... we've been a bit over-run and I'm going to have a massive cull at Easter... thinking of shredding the cuttings and composting them, but I have half a thought that ivy may be poisonous or unsuitable for this. Anyone know a definitive answer? Or can you recommend a gardening forum?

Cheers,

Mike

If you go onto www.bbc.co.uk/gardening you might find something, I think that it depends what variety of ivy you have as to wheather it's poisonous or not.

Sorry can't be of much more help.

Mike - isn't there something available that you can pour onto your compost that breaks these nasties down?

OMG, I just realised I've answered a question on gardening:eek:
Either I've become really boring in my older age, or I'm becoming a garden geek:earseek:

Thanks everyone... had the advice from several sites now, and the BBC Gardening forum reckons I can compost ivy, but best to shred it and mix with finer stuff.... gripping, eh?;) :p

...and don't be so cheeky Julia! :p :teeth:

Hi Mike

Do you have a waterproof internet connection in your garden so you can carry on Dis & Dibbing outside?

..LOL Zoe :p ..... I'll take plenty of breaks!

Perhaps your could make sure your gardening jobs are short breaks away from these boards rather than the other way around?

You HAVE to get your priorities straight!!
