Just tried to book the Tea Room for a special surprise for my mom in December and it was booked solid! I'm going to keep trying on the phone, but has anyone had success walking in here and being accomodated?

I booked my adr for December at 180 days and still had trouble finding the adr I was looking for. It's only open for 3 hours a day so that's why it is hard to get.

The few times we've been there, we have seen walk-ins each time. Maybe they set aside a few tables for walk-ins? But perhaps December is a popular time for the tea with the holidays coming up. I would keep trying consistently to get a reservation each day in case something opens up. If not, it's always worth a try to see if anything is available the day you are there.

Bear in mind, not only are the hours of opening limited, the Tea Room is not a large space--so fewer reservations are available. Keep trying for an ADR, and if nothing falls in place, run to the tea room and see if you can get a walk in. Meanwhile, have a backup plan in place--lunch in the GF Cafe, or maybe the Kona Cafe.

we LOVE the tea room!!! we have two ADRs for dec..we didnt have any trouble getting the times we wanted at all, I am shocked to hear that.they gave us many dif days and times to choose from.I have had good luck with walking up there also.

Not with a walk-up, but I've been able to snatch someone's cancellation the day before. It's worth a try. I would suggest also calling when you get there to see if anyone cancels. It's very popular during the holidays.

The last 2 times we were there people tried to get a "walk in" and were turned away.

1) Very seldom are there open slots for walk-ups.
2) Even in slow seasons.
3) They are usually due to cancellations.
4) There are only three ways to get there is booked
. . . keep callig for cancellations
. . . wlk-up and see if there were cancellations
. . . find a Lobby Concierge with ADR override code to give you an ADR

I didn't think you could make priority seating for the Afternoon Tea? I just tried on disney.com and it wouldn't let me. Help! I was planning on going but don't want to be turned away.

1) ADR's are call-in only.
2) No on-line ability to reserve.

I finally got one! :cool1:

I've been calling every few days and it paid off!! Thanks for all the help here!

Yes, thanks! Wasn't seeing it on disney.com either and went a googling on the dis for an answer. Disney website doesn't even state you should call in instead.

We've usually been able to walk in when we wanted to. However, December is probably difficult due to the holidays. Perhaps more locals are coming out for tea?

In any event, people like to use tea as a substitute for lunch, so around 2 pm is not good for walking in. You'll have more luck around 4:30 or 5 pm. They close at 6 pm.
