I think the Garden View Tea room might be a nice place to celebrate my mother’s birthday on the day we arrive in Orlando (her birthday is 2 days earlier but she won’t mind). I’m not sure if there’s time that day and our itinerary is filling up since she’s never been to WDW before. We land at about 11.40 am and will be going to the Halloween Party (ideally starting early like 4.30pm). We’re staying at BLT so I’m not too worried about time for checking in and getting between places but how early could I realistically book the tea room and not worry about Magical Express delays? How long late could I book if we wanted to be leaving no later than 4pm to head to magic kingdom?
The alternative is to do the tea room on the weekend but I’m going to be up early to run the wine and dine 10k and she will probably meet me at the finish line so we might prefer an afternoon nap and a dinner reservation that day instead (I know my sleep patterns).
I’ve also considered Victoria and Alberts as a celebration meal for a different day but she would be angry with me for spending that much on her and while I’m tempted to do it anyway I’d worry that I’d be doing is more for me (always been looking for an excuse to go) and not considering her feelings as she would be uncomfortable with the expense (sigh).
If there’s not time for the tea room any other suggestions that I could try to squeeze in on other days would be welcome.
Edited: I don’t plan on taking her to California grill or any of the other signature as she will still see the prices on the menu and not want to order much, offer to contribute to paying thre bill, etc. the places we eat as a family at home are not very expensive.
