On the 26th I will be going to MNSSHP for my birthday and I am thinking of possibly stopping for afternoon tea at Garden View Lounge. It didn't occur to me until recently (as recent as 5 minutes ago :rotfl: ) to do this, so now I'm wondering if it would be possible to get a reservation on such short notice. Would I even need a reservation? Do they do reservations?

If you have been there, did you enjoy it? What did you think of it? How did you like the tea, scones, devonshire cream (scones + devonshire cream are my reasons for going)?

Any opinions would be very helpful :goodvibes

I would call and try to get reservations......if there are none available, try when you get there.. and keep trying during your vacation. If nothing opens up, I would try to be a walk up if you really want to have tea there. All you can do is try, but I would definitely try for a reservation, it is a popular dining place.

It is Disney's attempt at high tea and they do a decent job.. I like the elegance and the devon cream and scones are good. Once you have had high tea elsewhere like England, I think it pales a bit, but it was lovely.

Definitely try for the reservation, even after you arrive at WDW. The room is very small, and the tea is quite popular. I think you'd have trouble getting in as a walkup.

Dh and I went this past April and we both loved it and would go again for sure. You def need ressies, they are only open for 2 hours or so and the times fill up fast.

Thank you everyone who responded.

I tried calling this morning and they were all booked up :sad2: I even have my best friend try again later and nothing. The cm my friend spoke to said that Garden View gets a lot of last minute cancellations, so I should keep trying back often.

We are locals, so we aren't really going on a vacation, we are just going for the party and the tea if we can get in there. Wish me luck with that last part pixiedust:

I GOT A RESERVATION!!! :woohoo:  :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:

I called today on a complete whim, not thinking I would get anything and the woman had about 10 different times I could choose from. I was beyond thrilled, the woman was amazing and so, so nice. She made my entire day.

So now we are going at 3:20pm on the 26th party: Talk about getting some pixie dust! pixiedust:

Well done! I was going to say if not just turn up and try for a walk up as we have been lucky a few times with this. You tend to have a wait but as long as you dont mind its fine but you dont need to worry now

Oh and the Formosa Oolong tea is lovely!

Oh good!!! I have done this several times and the first was a few years ago for my and my BGFs b'day before MNSSHP! Make sure they know it is your B'day meal... we had roses, tiaras, and champange! We got the Princess tea, love it! I was a little worried about all the different stuff I did not think I would eat, but loved every thing, even the stuff I have NEVER liked anywhere else. Must have been Magic?...pixiedust:

Yay for you! That is awesome, have a great time! See, persistance pays off!

I had the same thing! I don't eat fish at all! Still the salmon and cucumber sandwiches I ate and actually enjoyed! It's really weird but there is something about that place! I've had salmon sandwiches since and they tasted awful

We were going to show up at 2 anyways, just to see if they could squeeze us in. I couldn't find the formosa listed on the menu on allears, but I'll definitely check it out if they have it there :thumbsup2

The very nice CM who took my reservation made sure to note that I was celebrating my birthday. The princess tea really caught my eye when I looked at the menu on allears. I'm going to have a tough time deciding which tea to choose from, they all sound so good.

Maybe it was the fact that it was Disney food? My boyfriend thinks I'm nuts, but I am pretty sure everything tastes just a bit better at Disney :goodvibes

Thank you so much, I'm sure I will have a fantastic time :flower3:

Do you know what other kinds of sandwiches they have there? I probably won't get them anyways, but it would be nice to know just in case since I am allergic to cucumbers and I don't eat meat or fish. Regardless, I'm just going for tea and scones :)

I'm glad you were able to get a ressie. My daughter and I went there last month for the first time. It was something I had wanted to do for a long time. We had a wonderful time, and I hope you do too. The little sandwiches were good. I remember they had egg salad, chicken salad, cucumber and a couple of other ones. You are right, everything just seems to taste better with that Disney Magic!!

ENJOY!!

Wow, I'm surprised you had trouble getting a table at first, they're almost always pretty empty, since it's not on the dining plan!

I was bored at work last night, so I made myself a reservation for this afternoon. Headed over in about an hour- yay!

Aw, that must of been so much to do a mother/daughter tea. Thank you for letting me know what kind of sandwiches they have, you were a huge help :goodvibes

I must admit, the first woman I spoke too wasn't exactly the ideal CM. She was very short with me and not helpful at all :sad2:

Don't you just love living in Orlando? I can't even tell you how many times I have randomly gone to one of the resorts just to grab a bite to eat. By the way, did you enjoy your tea?

Just wanted to say Congratulations on getting the ressie.

I love it when Pixie Dust flies! :wizard:

Thank you so much! I'm so grateful for getting a bit of birthday pixie dust :wizard:

Congrats!

Thank you :goodvibes
