A couple of weeks ago, I posted some pics of my garden. The clematis was blooming and the roses were just starting. Two weeks have gone by... and the roses are in full bloom and the coreopsis has added a real splash of color too. Thought I would post a few pics and update you on how the garden is evolving.

Do you remember the carpet rose that had one single bloom on it last picture post? Well here it is now.

It is a mass of blooms. In front of it is some blue spires of Salvia.

In the main garden, the red centranthus has yellow coreopsis to contrast with and suddenly the place is alive with color! In the background on the gateway arch...the coral blooms of American Beauty roses add yet another color dimension.

In the far corner, the hollyhocks have spires of unopened buds... about to burst forth. :)

One lone hollyhock bloom has opened up. Later there will be peach, and pink, and yellow. All reaching for the sky.

It's not all about flowers though... check out these "Super Fantastic" tomatoes. They will be ripe by the Fourth of July. :teeth:

Closer look at the sunshine yellow of the coreopsis. In the center of this main garden area... are purple coneflowers. They are just a few weeks away from blooming profusely too.

Just another view.

I will leave you with a closer look of the coral roses growing on the garden arch.

The colors of summer... brilliant yellows, reds, coral, blues, and purples. Next will be the addition of the hollyhocks, the purple liatrus, the purple coneflowers, soft pink baby's breath, and the white obedient plants.

Just thought I would update you on how the garden has changed. Never ceases to amaze me how it transforms from week to week.

As always Laura, your garden is absolutely enchanting! :) :) The colours and combinations are gorgeous.

It must be a wonderful thrill to view such sights every day!

Wow, your tomatoes look super healthy!! :)

Thank you very much. :)

You are so lucky to have long season of growth. My iris are just starting to bloom and everything else is just budding.

I'm jealous. Especially of being able to have fresh tomatoes for the 4th.

Thanks for sharing your beauty.

Oh laura....my gardens are so far behind yours....:(

So, thank you so much for posting !

Dixie you've cheered me up, I remember why I love to garden. Your flowers are beautiful, and tomatoes too.

This has been a spring I like to forget. My lilacs bloomed with moldy washed out colors, My rhododendrons, azaleas, dogwoods, quince, iris and lupines soon followed in the same path as the lilac. I've re-planted seeds only to watch them wash away or rot. I have oak trees growing everywhere in my flower gardens and grass that is a foot high the day after you mow it. On a good day, and there haven't been too many of them, I spend hours pulling out baby oak trees and trying to mow. No lawn envy this year.

Your lovely garden pic's have shown me the rewards to lots of hard work. On this sunny day I think I'll try gardening again. With some luck maybe we may get more then one sunny day.

You have such a beautiful garden. I enjoy looking at your pictures.:D

mamu - I had a garden year like that - last year. It was a late start... hard freezes late in the year ... froze out my lilac blooms and the garden just never flourished like it normally does. But... one of the joys of a garden... is each new growing season is a fresh start. This year is promising to be a grand year... so it goes in cycles. In the meantime, I will share my garden with you while you wait for the sun to shine once more. :)

I'm in awe! How GORGEOUS.....:D

Truly magnificent DixieDee!! I especially love the picture of the coreopsis following the tomato shot. The yellow flowers all seem to be saying "Look at Me! Look at Me!" - all vying for our attention.

You work hard on your garden and it shows. I always enjoy a virtual stroll through it no matter what the season. Thank you so much for sharing with us.

Wow! Your garden is amazing. How do you get your roses to look so perfect? Not a spot or hole chewed! Amazing.

Oh Laura, your garden is just beautiful as usual. I love your colors and choice of flowers. You are so far ahead of us here in the NE. My peonies just ended and my irises are midway. I have buds on the hollyhocks and the first flush of roses. That is between the monsoon we've had.
Thanks for brightening my day with your flowers

I am so excited to see these!!!! I have planted Coreopsis this year and I am so happy to see how big they will get.....

I too love your gardens as I've said before...thanks so much for sharing - now if you could just figure out how to get the scent through the computer screen then I'll really love them even more!!!! ;)
