Can anyone tell me whether or not the lion king Characters still appear at the Garden Grove in the evening and if so which evening they are there?thanks

I am pretty sure Rafiki and Timon appear there on Mon and Fri nights. The rest of the week there are different characters.

We almost ate there in April and then had to change our plans. is it any good? Have you eaten there before?

We went on a Friday and saw Timon and Rafiki. The food was really good too. We were relaxing and taking our time, there more than an hour and a half, and I was surprised that the restaurant never filled even half full.

A couple of things.....they charge $10 for parking (more for valet) so if you can come from somewhere else and not drive you'll save that. AP didn't get us free parking (hotel not owned by Disney) nor did we get a discount on the dining for AP or DDE....BUT....my AAA card got us a discount. And the hotel is quite pretty and well worth a wander around.

They have a breakfast on the weekends that is also excellent, but it was Chip & Dale not Lion King characters.

Thanks for the information. We wanted to eat there on are arrival day which will be a Monday, thought it would be a good start to our stay if the children could meet some of the charatures on their first night.

Garden Grove is at the Swan but I have no idea whether you can use DDP, :confused3 I'm sure somebody else will be able to answer that part of your question

No, you can't use DDP, nor does your AP or DDE card get you a discount, because the hotel is not owned by Disney. You also can't buy the DDP if you stay there (or Dolphin).

BUT...if you have a AAA card, you CAN get a discount, I think it was 15%.

I read on the S/D thread that the discount is 20%. I wonder if it's changed recently?

It might have been 20%...I'm going on memory, so I'd believe the people posting on the other thread over myself. Sorry...probably should have just said discount, not tried to remember the amount.

No problem. :) I appreciate you sharing the info, regardless of the discount. I was just making sure I knew what to expect. :goodvibes
