We're staying at AoA for 2 weeks Jul-Aug, but aren't hiring a car. With 2 Teenage boys who are constantly hungry I was thinking about ordering some snacks, breakfast items and bottled water from GG.

My questions are
1. Is it worth it? (I understand there is a minimum order)
2. Would the groceries be in the room when we arrive or would we have to arrange with the front desk to get them?

They will arrive at a time you order them to and bell services will hold them for you. They will then bing them to your room (you need to tip!) when you call for them. It can be worth it for water alone. They did send us one case of water less than we ordered one year though and I never got it resolved. If you order your sun cream from them too its easy to get it up to the minimum price order.

The minimum order is $40, which will be easy for you to get to since you are staying for 2 weeks. My family even uses it for when we are only staying 5 days. We order breakfast foods and some snacks. Never have any trouble reaching the minimum order.

The delivery fee is $14 plus any tip you want to add. Orders over $200 it is a $2 delivery fee.

It is totally worth it for us. Even with the delivery fee and minimum order, it was still cheaper than eating breakfast out every morning.

We LOVE garden grocer.

We only go in August (we're teachers.) We order 2 cases of water (family of 5, staying one week), breakfast foods and park snacks.

The order is delivered to the resort, and bell services keeps it (refrigerating anything that needs it.) They bring it up once we get our room key.

It's SO worth the service fee!!!

Hiya

I've used Garden Grocer on a few occasions now.

Positives:

Always had great service.
They will try and find alternatives if what you want is not on their lists.
Groceries have been in our room if delivered prior to check-in, otherwise bell service are happy to hold for you in the meantime.

Negatives:

You have to buy over I think its $40.00
Then theres a delivery fee (I think)
The items are, IMO, significantly over priced to say Walmart
We never end up using all what we buy:(

If your on the DDP too you end up with so much food its beyond belief.

I would never rule out using them again, but felt we wasted a lot of what we bought, we could buy drinks as snack credits for the room if needed but we are never in tbh.

I did think about buying my sun cream from them too - we like the aerosol ones so always buy it out there (although pricey within WDW)

Thanks

We used garden grocer for our stay at OKW in December. We got the essentials - bread, milk, butter, pringles, water, beer - and easily made the $40 minimum.

I asked for it to be delivered about when we would be landing. When we went to check in at OKW I mentioned my order to the bell services guy who was taking care of our luggage and when we came back out he had it all ready on the trolley with our luggage. We of course tipped him accordingly ;)

The other thing you could do is go to the garage across the road from DTD and buy your water and snacks from there, its like a mini mart and has a good choice of stuff...:goodvibes

When we stayed at the FW cabins, we scheduled our delivery for after we checked in. I always take a little while to unpack and get ready for our vacay, so I was going to be in the room anyway. They were there right when they said they would be, brought everything in and put the cold stuff in the fridge for me. Great service!
