I don't think GG does alcohol. You may have to try wegoshop.com for that.although now that I think about it ordering our "spirits" should be enough to meet any minimum![]()
I just called both places yesterday as I am trying to figure out which one to use and I want to get some beer and maybe some alcohol delivered too.
WeGoShop will charge an additional $5 fee to make a separate stop for anything that's not available at the store where they pick up your groceries (ie liquor). WeGo's fee for one-stop shopping is $17 and I don't think there's a minimum order. You type in your specific requested items yourself (they don't have a list that you pick from). They will give you the actual receipt from where they shop so there is no mark-up on the items. They charge an additional 10% gratuity to leave the groceries with Bell Services and another 3% fee to pay by credit card rather than by cash. If you want any sort of alcohol delivered they need you to scan your ID and email it to them with your order.
Garden Grocer has a $40 min. order and their fee is $12. Their prices DO have a mark-up on them and you have to shop from a pre-set list on their website. They will also pick up beer and / or alcohol and they ask that you FAX a copy of your ID to them with your order confirmation number on it. If you are not there to receive it they will leave it with Bell Services and will refrigerate any items that need it. I do not believe they charge anything extra for using a credit card or for leaving it. If you pay by credit card they will go ahead & charge your card for everything that's on the list when you place your order. Then they will call you with the additional charge(s) for any alcohol or beer that's added (prices for that are not available online).
These things are important to me to sort out as we are arriving EARLY on a Sunday and I know our villa will not be ready for us. Our groceries will need to be stored at Bell Services for several hours at a minimum unless I request a later delivery. Problem is I don't necessarily want to HAVE to be there when it's delivered. So we may as well get it delivered around the time we anticipate arriving. Then I'll just check on it to be sure that it's put with our luggage or whatever before we head out to the parks.
I was concerned about the prices on the Garden Grocer site, so I picked several items that I would likely buy from them. I wrote down the prices and then took the list to my local grocery store for camparison. Yes, some items were $1 or so higher, but the same percentage of items were $1 or so LOWER. In the end, it was a wash as far as increased price goes from what I normally spend.
I may decide by default just based on the avail. date!!
) The Wal-mart near where I live is INSANE, so I refuse to go in there just to keep me from becoming a homicidal maniac.
They actually have a tiered price structure. The fee depends on how much the grocery bill was.WeGo's fee for one-stop shopping is $17 and I don't think there's a minimum order.

Groceries up to $100 = $17 fee
Groceries $100 - $200 = $22 fee
Groceries $200 - $300 = $32 fee
Groceries > $300 = 12% fee
