Has anyone ever used gardengrocer.com. I am thinking about using this service on our trip in Sept for the bulky/heavy stuff i dont want to pack, ie diapers, juiceboxes, etc. I am wondering does someone have to be present in the room (we will be a POP) for the actual delivery? And if not does anyone know how late at night or early in the morning they will deliver? Thanks in advance!

The only time we've ever used them is off-site, but I was very happy with the service. All of our groceries were put away before we got to the condo.

We just used them on May 27th for the 1st time on-site..we stayed at SSR..they left our delivery with bell services and then bell services brought it up to our room after we arrived-very easy!

I was thinking about having milk and orange juice delivered also. If I have a fridge in our room will the perishables be placed in it I wonder?

They kept our frozen and cold stuff in the fridge at bell services before they brough it up to us.

This is good to know! I was planning on using them to order some things for our upcoming trip.

WE used them this last time we were there (last week) and loved it. They did deliver to bell services and then we just called to have them bring it to our room. They said they would deliver between 4 and 6 and it was there by 4:15. Do be aware that they are limited in the options you can get and it is a $40 minimum order. We ordered water, Dr. Pepper (husbands life line), powerade, ritz crackers, pretzels, granola bars, hot tamales and mike and ikes. We pretty much went through everything before we left. The snacks were nice to have in the room when we came back for our afternoon rest. We will definitely do garden grocer again. Water was cold in the morning and we just took 4 bottles with us to the park and then didn't have to use our snacks for water.

We used them and they were great. Our order was delivered to bell services before we arrived at the resort, so our groceries were brought up to the room by bell services with our luggage. We got lots of things like slabs of bottled water, milk, cut fruit, wipes and more. All of the cold items had been well stored by bell services and refridgerated. We were actually delayed a whole day due to flight cancellations so our groceries had been delivered the day before our actual arrival day (on our booked arrival day) so they were stored for 24 hours.

I would definately us them again.

So do you just call to add beer and wine to your order? We were looking on the web site, but didn't see it listed....Also, when is a good time to place the order? We will be there in 3 weeks.

Does anyone know how their prices compare to a local grocery store? We are trying to figure if it makes sense to try and pack as much as we can and just order heavy items through them (water, soda,......beer :))

Price wise it was fairly comparable to our local grocery stores a tad higher, but still much cheaper than buying alot of snacks and water in the park. We thought we would do it for bottled water and diapers, but ended up also getting some fruit and breakfast stuff. We ended up leaving two bottles of water but had used everything else, it was very convienient. When ours arrived at the resort they kept it in the cooler until it was brought to the room.

You just request the beer and wine in the comments section. I would place your order ASAP.

Pssst - they also deliver beer and wine - it's just not on the website...

Funny you mention that. We ordered water from Staples and had it delivered. DH has an account w/ them thru work so there was no delivery charge and no minimum.

Anyway, we were walking to check out and I saw a delivery being brought to a room. 2 cases of water and a case of beer. I thought to myself, "note for next trip."

We used them on our last trip for snacks, breakfast items, drinks, diapers, etc. It was very convenient and out of a $200+ order (3 families) everything was perfect except for missing 1 yogurt. We didn't care enough to even call about it, though. The bad thing was that my youngest DS was sick, so he and I stayed home and DH had to bring back the diapers and things we had ordered for him.

The other day I was telling DH that one of us needed to go to the grocery store for a whole list of things and he said, "Isn't there something like Garden Grocer in our town?" Don't I wish!

Will they do this at a ASMu as well, or only resorts with bell services? It would be great to already have all the water and soda there since we will be checking in REALLY late.

Works the same way at the value resorts. In fact last May we arrived late at night and forgot to ask about our things from gardengrocers when we checked in. When we woke up we then remember our food order and called and they delivered everything right away. Milk was cold.

AWESOME Thanks!! How far in advance would you order? I read in a PP that someone arriving in 3weeks should order ASAP. It's about 4 months for us, but I'm so excited I want to do some things NOW!!!!
