Hi there...could anyone please tell me how far in advance did you place your order?

Also, do you think it would be ok to order Milk?? Just worry about it getting spoiled...
THANKS

we ordered about 4 weeks in advance and we got milk and other chilled and frozen foods. Everything was fine and they store them wherever they need to be ie in fridge or freezer

I think we ordered 3 weeks in advance and we ordered milk
and other cold and frozen items too.
We were THRILLED with our experience with them
and plan to use them again in the future.

We're just back and used gardengrocer with great success. All cold items were in a separate bag marked "Cold Items" and these were refrigerated and cold when we received them. Bread even managed to be not smashed! I place order 3 weeks before trip. Enjoy your trip!

Sorry to double post, but I dropped this in another post about a week ago, and no response yet

Any insight or sharing of experiences would be appreciated!

"I am going to be ordering from them (garden grocers) at the end of next month too, and I am sure this has been covered 100 times in the forums, but can anyone fill me in on how delivery works when it is set for the day of your arrival? Do the groceries (all non-perishable of course) get delivered to the front desk if you do not yet have a room assignment? Or if the order arrives after you do have a room assignment, does it get delivered to your door? I will be at POFQ, anyone with previous ordering experience to this resort or any resort for that matter, I would love some insight on what to expect... such as, if the order arrives before we do, do the cast members at the front desk hate storing groceries for guests? Please let me know what your experiences have been."

Thanks all!

We are going in 2 weeks & I ordered about two weeks ago. From what everyone on here has said, it's the way to go.:thumbsup2

We just used them for the first time. We stayed at POR. We received a phone call from gardengrocer before delivery that was scheduled for our day of arrival. He stated items would be left with bell services as we had not made it to Disney yet. Bell services stored the items, no problem. Cold things were kept cold and we called and had them brought to our room when we got settled. They gladly accepted the "thank you" and the tip!

Oh wow. I think I may have missed the boat. yikes :scared1: I'm arriving in 2 weeks. Do you think I still have time? I had no idea you had to order that far in advance

We arrived February 29, and we had a nice gentleman come.

I ordered about two weeks in advance. When we were on the ME bus, he gave us a ring on my cell phone, asking if we were checked in yet because he was waiting for us :rotfl: He wasn't due for another hour! But we finally checked in, got to our room and he stalked us down (called us in the hotel room!) asked our room number, and a few minutes later he was at the door.

We had perishable goods, but they lasted fine. We've used them in the past, and will continue to use them in the future! :worship: GREAT experiences with them! :thumbsup2

We used Garden Grocer for our trip 9/17 - 9/27.

We were called two days before we arrived and the delivery date and two-hour delivery window were confirmed.

We did have one disappointment.

Our order was correct, and was delivered withing the two-hour window, but I did have one issue with it. We were waiting in our room for delivery at POFQ. My cell phone rang, but no one responded when I answered so I hung up, waited a few minutes, and called the number back. It was the Garden Grocer delivery person who answered and told me he had just dropped off our delivery with bell services instead of bringing it to our room. I asked why he hadn't brought the groceries to our room and he said that POFQ didn't permit it, and he knew it in advance so he didn't even try to deliver to the room. I told him that there was nothing on the website that said they didn't make room deliveries to POFQ, and he said there are a few WDW resorts that don't allow room delivery of groceries by outside companies because it takes tips away from their employees. POR and POFQ are two of them. So, I called Garden Grocer and asked why they don't tell customers this on their website and they said they would consider it. That was going on three weeks ago, and as of now there is still nothing on the website about it.

I also don't understand why the Garden Grocer delivery person didn't call me back if he knew he didn't speak with me to tell me the groceries had been delivered.

And when I spoke with POFQ bell services about this and they confirmed what the Garden Grocer delivery person told me.

So, while the order was accurate and delivered on time ane we had no complaints about it in general, we wound up tipping not only the Garden Grocer delivery person (a very generous tip that was included with the online payment for the order), and the POFQ bellman. You might want to keep this in mind so you don't get stuck paying two tips for the same delivery, or at least modify the tips appropriately.

We used Garden Grocer in August and we loved the service. We ordered two cases of water, a cooler, snacks, fruit, muffins. I had a problem trying to place the order online, so I called and they were extremely helpful. When I placed the order they asked me to choose a delivery window. I chose 3-5 p.m., but told them we would not be in our room during that time, so they should leave everything with bell services and we'd pick it up when we got back from the parks. I received a telephone call on my cell phone letting me know that they had made the delivery to the resort and at what time. When we got back to our room later that evening, everything was in our room. I guess bell services delivered our stuff, along with our luggage. I was very impressed with the call to let us know they had completed the delivery -- I completely wasn't expecting it.

We LOVE using Garden Grocer!!! They're wonderful to deal with and I would suggest calling them with any questions you have!! I always call and tell them we'll call when we get to our room (they will give you their cell #) and they deliver right away!! Since we fly from the northwest we never know if we'll arrive in time as we don't get in until later in the day so they're just fine with us calling when we get there!!! We also get water, pop, FRUIT (it's delicious), milk and capri suns! And we usually go to WDW for a longer time so we sometimes have them deliver again in the middle of our trip!!

Hope you have good service with them too!!!! Enjoy your trip!

Can I ask a question, How much do you tip GG? I do not want to give too little or too much.

thanks
Tricia

Oh wow. I think I may have missed the boat. yikes :scared1: I'm arriving in 2 weeks. Do you think I still have time? I had no idea you had to order that far in advance

I don't think anyone answered your question, you can still order and I'm sure you probably already did, but incase you didn't, get your order in as soon as you can. They ususally post dates that are closed once they start getting to many orders for certain days, as the days get closer to the time your about to be there you'll see that on the site. Might want to check and see if that's the case, I doubt it since it's the time of the year it is.
You don't have to order to far in advance, but about two to three weeks just keeps you safe.
As for the original poster, we took our own cooler with us to keep the milk cold. I took a soft sided cooler, that you can pull. It was the best idea I came up with, with all the exspenses of the trip my dh was putting his foot down about anything else being bought. So I folded it flat and put it in the bottom of my sons suitcase, once there we filled it with ice every morning and every evening before we went to bed, worked like a charm! The rolling thing was genius! I would have my son take out the milk and sodas, water bottles and put them in the sink (btw, if you have two sinks you can use one for the milk and fill it with ice) then he would take the cooler outside and dump the water and then roll it down to the ice machine and filler up! He would roll it back and then put everything inside and off we would go to the park, when we would come back, everything was right as rain! ;)
I do think they have styro foam coolers to buy at garden grocers, this is an add exspense, but if you don't care, then that would be a good way to do things also.
Have an amazing and magical time on your trip!

Thank you so much! We actually put our order in last night. I'm really glad I read that info on here. Good idea about the cooler! :)

I can't remember how much we tipped -- I think they might suggest a tip, but I'm not sure. However, I asked GG to put it on my credit card, along with the charge for my order, because I knew we wouldn't be there when the order was delivered, and I didn't want to stiff the delivery person on the tip.

I used Garden Grocer in August and they were exceptional especially after I realized I had the wrong delivery date when I called to confirm 3 days before we left. They were able to change and get my items delivered, on time, with no problem! I definitely will be using them again in December!

Thank you to all who have responded...I just created a list and went on the site www.gardengrocer.com and cannot believe how awesome the site is.

I will be making my order soon  and going to CBR in 53 days !!!:cool1: :cool1: :yay: :woohoo:
