Garden Grocer?

Hello all,

I know a while back a lot of people recommended Garden Grocer, and then it seemed there were some problems. Anyone use them lately and recommend for or against them? Any other suggestions?

We used them for our Sept 2007 trip and had a great experience. All items were delivered and they were a little early on the time of delivery (but that was OK). The driver even called to say he was on his way.

We used them in Oct 2007 for the 3rd time and had another wonderful experience. We've never had a problem with Garden Grocer. All items were delivered and they actually beat us to the resort. Bell Services stored them and brought up our groceries once were checked in our room.

We also used them in October, and all items were waiting for us at Bell Services when we got to our resort.

We used them in Dec. no problems. Bell service delivered our items when we checked in.

We also used them in December for the fourth time with great service. We were missing one item from the order. We called them up to let them know the item we were missing and they delivered it to Bell Service the next day. I was happy with the service we received!

We used them in Dec. 07 and they were great!!
They supplied every item I requested on and off the list. Even the beer.

I just placed an order with them three days ago. I saw on their site that you need to book well in advance. Online ordering was easy. I asked to have it delivered it on the day we arrive but the computer said that date was booked. I thought that a little crazy since I ordered more than one week before arrival. I emailed them and asked and sure enough they will have it delivered on arrival for us. The prices weren't horrible. Although fruit was super pricey!

LOVE THEM!!! We have used them 3 times with the most recent being in August/September. Prompt, accurate and excellent customer service. I just love having the stuff delivered right to the room and we didn't even have to be there!

Order as far in advance as you can as time slots can fill up. You can alwasy add/remove items as your trip gets closer - just give them a call.

I am so glad this thread was started. I have been making my list for Garden Grocer. Now I know to schedule it well in advance.

My question is regarding parishable items (i.e. cheese sticks that need to go in the fridge). If we are not in our room what happens to the items? Will they put them in the fridge. Also, if we have not been assigned a room yet will the resort hold these items for us, and if so what do they do with the parishable items. I read somewhere they will keep them in a fridge but I am a little worried they may have been a one time thing.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

we stayed at VWL and Bell Services stored our groceries until we called down for them to deliver to our room. Perishables were kept cold -- I assume they have a fridge for this. HTH

Bell Services will hold the food until you call for it. They will put the cold items in the fridge. We have used them twice and no problems at all. As a side note, we are on the dining plan and never seem to use all the snack credits. But you can use the credits at your resort's general store. I think we got 1/2 gallon milk, english muffins, chips, salsa. All of those counted as a snack. It would have added up to over $15 at garden grocer. Just a tip!
