Garden Grocer - What do you think of them?

We have used both services, Garden Grocer, and WeGoShop. Both were excellent.

GG - one teeeeeeny complaint-they didn't log the order with Bell Services (or sign or something like that?) and so Bell Services had a bit of a hard time locating all our items.

WGS - I think I liked it a bit better because you can get anything, you aren't limited to what is on their website. Marge, (the woman who runs it), is very friendly and helpful when I needed to add/remove a few items a few days before our arrival.

You can just order a couple of cases of water from Costco and they will deliver it?? Really? Hummmm...

I have reservations about using a grocery delivery service because of the timing for the delivery. And how do they find you for the delivery? What if you're not checked in yet? I guess they just leave the stuff somewhere? If you ARE checked in do they bring it TO you or do you go meet them in the lobby?

We never arrive at the same time from one trip to the next...and how do you estimate what time you'll arrive say if you're using DME? OK, then what if you arrive early in the day and your room isn't ready yet? Our usual pattern is to check-in and hopefully if the room is ready just drop our stuff and head out to the parks. DH and DS would be irritated with me if I said we had to hang around waiting for a grocery delivery because it has beer & liquor and cold foods in the order.

Just not quite sure how it would really work out for us if we're not there.:confused3

For both services you give a time guesstimate, both services will leave your items with Bell Services-which has a cooler, if you aren't there, so your cold items will be fine. You can then have Bell Services deliver your food to your room when you get back from the parks.

With WGS-I called Marge and gave her my room number, her driver came right into our room with our stuff. It was excellent. :thumbsup2

We used wegoshop last summer because we needed specific food items and organic produce. WGS will shop at specific stores and buy the particular brands you want. My sil needed additional produce for her DD and I was able to add to my order at the last minute. We loved having the groceries delivered to our villa and loaded into our frig by the nice delivery lady.

I don't think you can go wrong with either grocery service. Just depends on your needs.

Used GG 2x and found it a them very reliable and convenient.

AFter traveling appx. 12 hours from Hawaii, the last thing the kids want to do is go grocery shopping. We usually order simple things like milk, oj, bananas, bagels, water, etc. to cover the first 2 days and then we go to the market later when we have more energy.

We have used GG twice and would use them again. I order early and give the 4 pm to 6pm window delivery time. I also tip when they deliver (and twice I was there for it).

They called about 1/2 before delivering (once I was at the resort and second time I was on my way to the resort from MK). Just check your order w/them when they deliver it to you/resort. Second time there was an item missing but it was delivered the next time they made a trip to the resort.

Thanks again for more info and your opinions. By the sounds of things, I don't think I'll go wrong with either service, I just have to decide which one will be best for us.

Since We Go Shop will shop anywhere for you does anybody have experience getting beer and / or liquor delivered too???? What about if you're not there...will they leave that with bell services too?? Just thinking about the ID thing....

I was wandering the same thing. We would like to get beer delivered but never know where we are going to be-anyone have experience with this. Will they leave it with bell services?

I'm hearing a lot of great things about Garden Grocer, but how about We Go Shop. Has anyone used them and how did you like them? We are seriously thinking about using one of them for our July trip and would love to hear your opinions on We Go Shop too if anyone has used them.

We love Wego shop. I've used them for the last 4 trips. They even will do multiple stops for a small fee. ( 2 stores or BJs + grocery store).

Thanks again for more info about them. It really does make me feel more confident about using either one of the services. We always used a limo service so we could have a grocery stop, but doing our groceries through one of these services it really is a big time saver.

I'm not sure how WGS handles that, but we had no problems ordering beer from GG. Even though it's not on their website, we requested a 12 pack of Corona (we put this request in the "comments" section during the checkout process). GG delievered our order to bell services and bell services delivered it to the room. We've used GG three times and we will be using them again next month.
