Which one is better? Should I ship my stuff or get it delivered from Garden Grocer? Do I have to be there when the delivery is made or can the cm's at the resort handle it for me, if I pay garden grocer in advance?

I have done both. With GG you can get cold items too. GG will leave the food at bell services. Bell services will call your room and leave a message when your food has arrived. GG also called us on my cell and told me they had delivered our food. We did pay before, including the tip.

This is a silly question. What is Garden Grocers? I have guessed it is some sort of grocery delivery service (can't fool me :) ). but is it a Disney company or is it an off site company. How do you know what they have available to order. And is shipping stuff from home feasible? I would have never thought of that. Studios, I would imagine, have very little to offer in terms of storage and food prep. Also, does Mousekeeping leave anything for you? Coffee, toiletries..anything at all? What happens if you have food stuffs left over that you don't want to schlep back home?
Can you tell I'm a raw newbie?
:)

You get 1 maybe 2 filter packs of coffee, and maybe a package of sugar/creamer. As far as toiletries, you get shampoo/conditioner/soap.

Unfortunately, we bought too much on our last trip, and left/threw out lots of food.

I have sent down pool noodles, and some sand toys for the DGC. The package got there (UPS) on Monday. Last year, we just threw those things away as well. The waste got to me, so this year, DSis will pack things up in the box, and just check them in the airline, she only has 1 suitcase, and will be going to Cape May where we use the beach things.

you might even look at WDW delivery service now instead of the 18% tip and $10 delivery fee.

It looks like a $5 delivery fee.

of course you could get them yourself at the DVC general store at your DVC resort.

anyone look at the new grocery deliver service that amazon is pushing?

We used Garden Grocers and could not have been more pleased!!! Really made the vacation start out right having it all delivered... And frankly, was worth the small amount extra !! They called on our cell phone.. very well done... we will defenitely do it again.. just ordered too much..:cool2:

So..each DVC resort has a general store close by?

Does GG deliver beer or wine?

They will deliver beer and wine. You have to put your order for it in the special comments box and they will call you with the total price if you wish to pay ahead.

The DVC resort general stores are VERY expensive. Even with a delivery charge from GG, think it still is cheaper to use that service. Plus they have a much wider selection!:thumbsup2

We used GG as well and were very pleased with the service. We even had a bag of ice delivered. We too had them deliver wine and some liquior. They even got the specific wine we asked for (wasn't a common one).

I don't see how you can go wring with them. Their prices were reasonable as well.

We used GG for our trip in October and we were absolutly pleased. The food was delivered before we arrived. It was stored by bell services including refridgerated and frozen and was delivered to our room with our ME bags and our owners locker (another great service, sign up for it!) all at the same time.

We just used Garden Grocer for the first time as well. It worked quite nice! They didn't have any delivery times after 4, but bell services stored the food for us then brought it up when we called. It was great. I am planning to keep a list on my computer at home of what we purchased and what we would change so I don't have to guess quite so much on each trip. It was very nice not to have to go out and get groceries. We also brought some dry goods from home and tried to only get things for the fridge/freezer.
