Please help! I was all set to place an order with wegoshop. I thought they would have better prices since she can shop around for items and use coupons. I got a call from her to let me know that on Sundays she does not deliver until 6:00 PM because she goes to church. Understandable - she can take a day if she wants. BUT, I really wanted to get my stuff shortly after check-in. After all, the purpose of ordering the stuff was so I would not have to pack extra. (BTW, Sunday is the day many DVC'ers check-in. Must lose some business this way.) She said she would leave my items with bell services and they would be waiting for me after my day at the parks.

There is something to be said for having peace of mind, knowing this is all taken care of and not having to pack extra since I am buying anyway.

How much more do you think gardengrocer costs?

What is your vote?

wegoshop
gardengrocer
(other?)

PLEASE HELP!

I used Wegoshop, and they were really wonderful. I have no experience with garden grocer, but based on what I know, I'd have wegoshop deliver on Sunday when they can. How will she collect payment if you're not there to receive delivery? When we used them, we wrote a check when they delivered.

She said to let bell services know that she has permission to charge it to our room.

I just used Garden Grocer and it was wonderful! I plan to use them again for our Spring Break trip. I even called the day off and they were able to deliver earlier than I had requested. They brought the food right to my room and unloaded it into the fridge. They charged 10 to deliver and the service was so good I tipped more.

If you don't mind sharing, how much did you tip? I'm not sure what would be customary for this type of service. I see on their website that you include the gratuity when purchasing rather than when he/she gets there.

Because the person went out of his way to find my villa, park, unload and go up to the second floor and unload in my room, I gave him an extra 5.00. . . after reading all that, maybe I should have given more. When I ordered the first part of July they only had the ten dollar fee and no gratuity option. The ten dollars is supposed to include the tip, at least it did when I first ordered. The service was great. All of my food was cold. I really will use them again.

My friend used the garden grocer when she went in May and was very happy with them. She called them when she arrived at the resort and they delivered her groceries within the hour. She said that they also told her that if she needed to order any more items during her stay there would not be an additional delivery charge. As for prices , I see you are from NJ, we are in northern NJ and she said they are about the same as the regular (non sale) grocery store prices. Hope you have a great trip! :)

Hi NJ DIS friend! Glad to meet you.
Looks like we probably could do one of those DIS Meets. (Although I've never been and have no idea what it entails!)

OBTW, I decided to use Garden Grocer. For some reason the PayPal was having trouble with one of my credit cards, so I had to call. Brian is very friendly and helpful. He is doing whatever he needs to in order to make his business a success. It seems he is working very long hours, 7 days a week. I will let you all know how the actual delivery service goes.

You are going a lot sooner than us. 3 more weeks for us! I hope you have a great trip! It is nice to have other disers so close by. We could start our own Disney meets. Ha Ha. Let us know how your trip was. :)

Hi marathonmommy!

I must have had the same problem with you and the paypal!

I am thrilled with Garden grocer! Brian was terrific and gave me the credit due to me and even called me to clarify everything! I would definitely recommend them!

Hey neighbors!!

I've read here on the DIS that A LOT of DISers really liked gardengrocer. They raved about the service and freshness of the food. I plan to use them next summer.

Go to the website www.gardengrocer.com and compare prices. They are very comparable to ShopRite, etc.

I started an account and saved items I want to order under the favorites section. I keep adding to it and when I'm ready to order you can transfer your favorites into an actual order.

I believe you can order up to two weeks before your arrival date. :sunny:

I recommend wegoshop.com. I have used them twice and they were great. I tried Garden Grocer during our trip 2 weeks ago and they delivered 6 hours late and were rude and unprofessional. I'll never use them again.

I too am from Gloucester County. Williamstown to be exact! What town are you from??

Also, don't foget about Gooding's (www.goodings.com), an actual supermarket that also delivers. Best thing about them, you don't need to schedule a delivery time and you don't need to be present. Even if you ARE in your room, they will deliver to Bell Services and not to you. Bell Services calls you, and if you're not in they'll store it for you (even keeping the cold stuff cold) and will leave a message for you to call them and ask for the delivery at that time.

VERY convenient, but they are also the most expensive option. It was worth it to me for the convenience, for not having to wait around for the delivery and then be annoyed if they're late.

You pay by credit card, by phone, before you leave home.

And another tip: the website has a pretty limited selection, but you're not limited to that -- they will deliver anything that they stock on their shelves except for alcohol.

Gardengrocer will also delivery to Bell Services-- that's what I've requested for my September trip. They'll also deliver wine and beer, but you have to request it via email or phone (it's not listed on the website).

That's true. I am the OP and wound up going with gardengrocer this time. Used wegoshop before. I had no problems whatsoever with gardengrocer. They were at my room within 1/2 hour, and they would have left it at bell services for me had I requested them to do so. Wegoshop will do that as well.
