Garden Grocer Or Not

WE ARE STAYING AT POP CENTURY IN DECEMBER. WE ARE TRAVELING W/4 KIDS 12,11,9,9. WE HAVE CONNECTING ROOMS RESERVED, AND HAVE A REFRIGERATOR FOR THE WEEK RESERVED FOR ONE ROOM. DH HAS BEEN DOING SOME RESEARCH ON ORDERING WATER, AND LIGHT SNACKS TO BE DELIVERED TO THE ROOM WHEN WE ARRIVE. WE DONT WANT TO HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT HAVING TO BUY BREAKFAST W/ OUR DDP, THIS IS WHY WE ARE LOOKING INTO BUYING SIMPLE GROCERIES. HOW IS GARDEN GROCER HOW DO WE GO ABOUT HAVING IT DELIVERED WHEN WE ARRIVE, ARE THERE ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS FOR WHERE TO GET GROCERIES DELIVERED. DO WE HAVE TO LET POP CENTURY NOW WHEN WE ARRIVE OR BEFORE WE ARRIVE THAT WE ARE EXPECTING A PACKAGE.

Last August we ordered from the garden grocer and it worked out great! When you start to check out, selecting which disney resort you want your package delivered to is an option, along with your arrival date. When I checked in at the hotel my package from Garden Grocer had beaten me there by a few hours and ASMO refrigerated it until I arrived per garden grocers instructions. I confirmed my order with garden grocer before my arrival date but never did anything to notify the resort, garden grocer took care of all of that!

BTW, it's not on the order form but if you make a note in the special comments section of your beer order, they will deliver that as well!

We used GG last week of April at POR...They were great.
I phoned them the minute I arrived at the room, they said the driver was on his way...he showed up at the room door within 15 minutes.
Did the same thing...we used GG for two cases of water, cereal and milk, OJ and bagels...I even ordered some beer and wine...All was prompt and exactly as ordered. No problems.
Didn't use our DDP for any breakfast only lunch and dinner...and we were out of the room earlier and at the parks for opening most days.
Will use them again for sure.

We have also used Garden Grocer & it was great!! We used them last year & our order was already there & being kept with bell services. We received everything we ordered (even DH beer) & it was great. Using them again for this trip.

I used garden grocer in December and have placed my order for my July trip. we were on the ddp, but wanted to be able to eat something before heading intot he park. we ordered cereal, bread, lunch meat, bagels, fruit, juice milk, ect. a great thing that we did was to pack a toaster. pop tarts made a great snack at night, and i love toasted bagels instead of plain. this will be able to save your snack credit for an actual snack in the park instead of having to use it for breakfast. por kept everything cold for us, and guest services delivered to our room when we got there, the resort was too big for us to bring our carry ons plus the groceries to the room. we had a case of water, 2 12 packs of soda and juice besides our food. it was well worth the money to tip them for it to be delivered.

I checked the site out today and love the idea. I do have 2 questions for those that have used it. We are not going until August.
1) Is there a way to save your shopping cart. I set up an account but am not ready to commit to our order yet. But I would like to start creating our list now. I saw "favorites" but don't know how to use it.
2) I saw a "tip" section for driver, order preparer, etc. - what do you guys do with that?

We have also used gardengrocer twice and plan to use them again next year for our trip. They are very prompt and couteous. Last year we ordered 2 bottles of wine that were specific for brand and type. They called and let me know they were looking for it. It took a few days for them to locate it but they happily took on the challenge. Even if they hadn't found it and we had to change our order, it was nice to know they actually made an effort to locate it. I also ordered some other food brands that were not on their website and they picked them up without hesitation.

I tipped $15 each time they delivered as a flat amt instead of % of order.

I saved the Garden Grocer web site as one of my favorites on my laptop. I played around with it for a couple of days, fine tuning the order and ordered last night. We ordered mostly water, snacks, breakfast items and a cheap cooler to ice down beer(also ordered). We wanted good stuff in the room for mornings and snacks for park and pool.
I tipped 20 percent based on what I would tip for food service. Looking forward to having all this delivered. We did not know about Garden Grocer last few vacations and spent a bunch of money at resort convenience stores.

We used Garden Grocer this past year. I ordered it before our trip b/c my son is a baby and still on formula and diapers. I was very nervous about them maybe not having his formula or not having the right kind. In the "notes" section of the order form I asked them to call me if they did not have the type of formula we requested. I got a phone call the same day I sent my order and the guy just wanted me to know they DID have the formula and to please not worry, they will get it there!! And they did! We plan to use them again this year!

We used them last week (to Pop) and were very happy. I think I ordered a bit too much and waited too long (and so got it on our first full day, not on arrival which lost us a day of use), but those were both my errors. Place the order early, to be sure you get it when you want.

Order was perfect. Driver left a message on my cell to tell me it was on the way. We ended up not returning to Pop for hours after the delivery, and when we came back it has been delivered to our room and all the the cold items were put into our fridge.

One thing I'd like to add is that when you order, don't wait until the last minute. Sometimes delivery dates fill up and they stop taking orders for certain days. I ordered a week before our trip and had no problem. They were great.

Just wondering how you all got Beer& wine on this Garden Grocer site- I think this is such a great thing(have been to Disney many times and never realized this service is available) going in Sept and want to see if we can get water and beer and wine delivered, but having trouble finding these items?

Beer and wine is not on the website. Just put your beer and wine order in the "remarks" section of the order. They can also get you grocery items that are not on the website as long as they are carried by the big grocery stores.
