Garden grocer or Amazon Prime?

If I order from groceries from Prime will they deliver to bell services? Or will I have to pay $5 per box?

I ordered Garden Grocer a couple of years ago. We order lots of stuff and our order was missing quite a few items. They were very kind about replacing the missing items and sent the replacements the next day. Unfortunately we were still missing a couple of items. I let them know but I gave up. I'm going to try again this year. They have good reviews, maybe it was just a strange occurrence.

We've ordered from GG three times and two out of the three orders were missing items. Once, a full bag of groceries meant for us was delivered to another client!! It was late at night when we got back to our cabin at FW--so it was too late for a new delivery. That meant that we had to buy breakfastinstead of making it in the cabin. I will be using a different service in Oct.

I am thinking of using Safeway for our upcoming trip mainly due to the lower prices. Any further information on their delivery service would be welcome.

Just wanted to come back and say that we went with Garden grocer, even though they were a little more - the service was great! I found that you have to add $40 to use Prime Fresh - and that's $40 of strictly Fresh items! So it wasn't worth it for us as we did a $55 order total (including shipping). For a family, it may make more sense for Prime Fresh but for 2 adults Garden grocer worked better for Babel cheese, grapes, water, fruit snacks, paper towels and chips.

Amazon has several different services now and they are easily mixed up

Amazon regular - dry goods longer shipping and shipping fees

Prime - dry goods, 2-3 day delivery on most items, now delivery fee

Prime Now - (the one you should use at Disney) fresh and dry goods (lunch meat, bread, milk etc) $20 Minimum, two hour delivery window, no delivery fee but online tip recommended

Prime Fresh - this is a grocery delivery service designed for people who will get groceries delivered to their home on a regular basis. This service costs $15/mo in addition to your annual Prime fee.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I was planning on using Prime but I didn't realize there was a $40 min on the fresh. I don't need that much. I'll look into GG.

Edit: Just saw china mom's post about amazon now. Going to check it out, thanks.

Thank you, this is so helpful! There is no amazon now where I live so I would have missed this...

Can I recommend Safeway?

We used them a couple months ago. Free delivery, you get to more control over the actual items you order, and the price was much cheaper than GG. I wasn't charged a fee fro delivery to Bay Lake Tower.
Thanks for the recommendation! Can you order on the day of requested delivery or best to do ahead of time? Where in the resort do they deliver to?

Is Prime Now, Prime Pantry? There water is very expensive. I guess it is because of the weight.

Prime Pantry is different. I just checked Prime Now and they have a 24 pack of Nestle Pure Life water for $4.75.

I should have added Prime Pantry to my list. It is $6.99 shipping for a box with a (usually) 2-3 day shipping window. Non Perishable goods only. When the box is full, you pay another $6.99 for the next box. They do indicate when the box is almost full. I am positice that this would cost you a $5 resort fee per box.

FYI, for those looking for Prime Now. You can't get there from your account (or at least I can't) if you don't have prime in your area.

To get to Prime Now, you have to google it. When you go to sign in, it will be your regular Amazon account info. There is also an app you can download.

Regarding beers and wine, has Amazon relaxed their rules? Or is GG still the only option?

Thank you SO much. I was missing the Prime Now option because I don't have it where I live. I was thinking I'd have to do Prime Fresh, which was way more complicated than I wanted it to be. Prime Now is just right.

Do both prime now and garden grocer deliver to bell services or directly to your room? If bell services, do you have to be in your room when the deliveries come? Or can you just call bell services when we are in the room?

Thanks.

I have used Garden Grocer two years in a row and they have been great. They have fantastic customer service as well.

I won't use amazon for this simply because they already dominate and/or are trying to monopolize too many areas. Competition is good for jobs and for the consumer, so that goes into my decision making process as well.

We have used GC many times, they are fantastic!

Our groceries have always been delivered prior to our arrival, so bell services held our items. They will refrigerate your cold items as well. We just call bell services when we are ready and they will bring our stuff to our room.

Same here. We've used Safeway a few times and were very satisfied. ArtieRyder, at BLT did the driver bring your items right up to your room after calling you? Just curious because they did for us at BLT but not at Jambo.
