I just found the Garden Grill, never heard of it before. It moves? Is the lunch and dinner both character meals? Have adr at Trail's End Buffet for lunch, should I change it for the Garden Grill lunch instead? Where is this? Can you see any of the Illuminations from it?

Yes, Garden Grill is a character meal for both lunch and dinner. It rotates inside above the boat ride (Living with the Land). It is located inside the Land, so you would not be able to see Illuminations from the resturant.

My DS (8) and I did the hydroponic (SP?) tour and then went to The Garden Grill and it rotated around everything and everywhere we had just learned about. Pretty neat! Nice restaurant and good food!

I'm not sure about lunch, but I know that the Garden Grill dinner is an all-you-can-eat menu served family style at your table (like 'Ohana if you've been there). The menu pretty much stays the same all the time. If this isn't the kind of meal you're looking for, then you might want to reconsider changing your ADR. The food is pretty good IMO; like almost all Disney restaurants I feel that the food was better five or six years ago than it is now. The characters are fun; if I recall it's Mickey, Minnie, and Chip and Dale at dinner. There might be others but those are the ones I remember.

The characters at GG are Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale.

The meal is brought to the table, which is nice. Don't have to worry about missing any of the characters.

Garden Grill is one of our "don't miss" restaurants when we go with the family. Great atmosphere, the characters are not rushed, and the food is great. I was disappointed with Trail's End (leave property and go to Golden Coral, half the price, 10 times more selection) and would choose Garden Grill 10 times out of 10 if it were between those two.

Agreed. I'd do GG twice a trip if it was all about me making the decisions.;)

I haven't been to GG in a couple of years, but it is fun and the food is very good. A fun plcace to eat. Try it!

I haven't been there since 2004 but I loved it and we're planning on going again in 2009 :)

Well we went on 3/03. of this past week. We enjoyed it. Our reservation was at 4:30. We go there a little before 4 and no one was at the desk yet, so we went and saw the Lion King movie they have in that building. Afterwards we checked in. After about a 10 mintue wait.(they don't open till 4:30 we were the first ones called in.No one was called in after us we noticed for at least another 5 or so minutes. We then found out that we were the family of the day. We got an extra appitizer for free ( a really nice salad) and a new dish to try that will be on the new menu. (which I think they said starts today, Sunday) It was really good. Some sort of rice and aspargus thing. I think she siad it was risotto, but I didn't catch it for sure, and i never had risotto before, so have no clue what it even is. LOL! We also go to see the characters first and all at once. They took a family picture of us. We also got to sign a card and put it in the family of the day book. It was a nice experience. We loved the catfish, the beef was OK, but I wasn't crazy about the mushroom suace they had on it. The turkey (we got it without cranberry) was a bit dry, but OK. The potatoes were just wonderful too. We pigged out on the corn bread as well. The desert was an apple crisp, which was super as well. DD go a cupcake to decorate, but really only nibbled on it. She was shy of the characters this year, and we didn't push it. Later in the week she got sick, so I think she was just under the weather most of the trip.

My family and I ate at the Garden Grille in Aug 06. First, let me start by saying the character interaction was terrific. The characters came around our table several times and my girls enjoyed them thoroughly. However, I absolutely hated the food. Yes, it was family style, but we didn't like it at all and left there hungry. I'm sure you'll find mixed reviews on every restaurant.

We ate there in February. I thought the food was fantastic...nothing fancy, just really good. My MIL is a vegetarian and they brought a squash risotto that was yummy. The entire table loved the green beans, we asked for seconds twice. My DH liked the fried catfish. The apple crisp dessert was also great. In addition, my two nephews, age 3 and 5, had some of the best characters interactions on the whole trip. Chip and Dale came by several times with big hugs for them, they loved it! Some people in our party were less than impressed with the family style aspect of the meal and what they considered to be a limited menu.

We love Garden Grill and thought the food was good and the character interaction was awesome. We did lunch and we say Farmer Mickey, Chip, Dale and Pluto.

No, we agree!

The characters are cute, I have to give that a big thumbs up! :thumbsup2

The food? Not edible in our opinion! We did not eat anything they served us. We saw the table in front order all kids food (they were not eating their initial meal either). We ask our server and she ordered chicken strips, mac & cheese, and french fries for us and that it what we ate.

We would never go back!

We had a lot of fun. We enjoyed the food and the character interaction was wonderful. My dd loved that the restaurant moved. Loved the dessert!
