1. How reliable is a GG reservation time? In other words, do you usually get seated around your scheduled time?

2. How long does a typical dinner last here?

I'm asking because we have a 5:50 reservation and am wondering if we'll have time to then go see YC, BC, Boardwalk and on to Osborne Lights the same night.

If Osborne lights are important to you, I'd just head there first after dinner and do your resort touring afterwards.

Even if all goes smoothly, a character meal will still take at least an hour. So let's say you're walking out of GG at 6:50. That gives you 1 hour and 10 min until HS closes and you can't get in. You have a 20-30 boat/walk from International Gateway to HS (and a 10-15 min walk from GG to IG). Just your travel time is 30-45 min. That doesn't leave much time for walking around the resorts.

yeah, agree with previous poster...see the Lights first to be sure you get in & have time to see them (the full show will take about 30 minutes, well worth seeing.) You walk from Garden Grill to the International gateway, then catch the boat to DHS. Go see the lights, then take the boat back to Boardwalk area to see the hotel area & decor (if you have enough energy...that's a lot of hiking...the length of Epcot, then a hike through DHS to the Streets of America to see the Lights, then hike back to the boats. Sounds like a lot to do all in one evening. More energy that we would have, for sure :thumbsup2

We were at Garden Grill on 11-21-11 and we arrived 20 minutes early since we had just come off of Soarin' so we decided to check with the hostess and ask how long the wait would be to see if we had time to go ride something else or if there was a chance of getting seated early. As luck would have it, we were seated in 5 minutes.

The service was great, the character interaction was some of the best we experienced and the food was good. The only negative is that I think they need to update the upper table area in particular. The area seemed dirty to me just due to the age of it. It appeared that the lower level was a little "cleaner" looking since it had the nicer booths that faced the scenery from the boat ride.

Overall, I thought the experience was worth it and my DD loved it. She still talks about Chip and Dale. The number of times she talks about them trumps even the princesses!
