Hi! I'm planning our family's first trip to WDW this May and am planning a few character meals throughout the week for my dd who will be 2. I already have reservations for Chef Mickey, the new bkfst at Tusker House, and lunch at Crystal Palace. She really loves Chip & Dale so I'm thinking about adding lunch or dinner at Garden Grill to our mix (and I originally planned on just 1 character meal :headache: ). My question is on the set-up of the place. She wouldn't eat the items that are on the Adult menu. Since she's under 3, and we're not paying for her, can I still go to the kids line (I'm assuming it's buffet stations and not brought to your table) and get food for her from there? Also, it looks like the menu is exactly the same for both meals?

TIA!

At the Garden Grill there is no buffet, it is served family style. They bring it to your table, and you can request what you want when you run out of something. As many times as you like, it doesn't matter. I love going there. Good food and good character interaction.:yay:

I didn't know it was served family style, thanks! My dh and dd are both picky eaters (well, she's only 2 lol) so I don't know that this option is best for us. We may be better off waiting in line for some character meet & greets instead.

I would think but I am not positive that they would bring you out a children's platter with chicken strips, fries and mac and cheese if you ask for you DH,but you would still be charged the adult fee but could eat the childrens stuff. I mean DS10 will be considered and adult this time and even though will be getting the childrens stuff bc of DS5, DS10 will eat off the kids plate but be charged as an adult.

I dont remember seeing Chip and Dale in any of the parks but bc we met them at GG I was really looking for them either.

:headache: why didn't I think of that? she doesn't eat turkey or catfish, but she'd play around with the mac n cheese (and nuggets on the rare occasion we let her eat fried food).

that's a great suggestion, thanks!

Last September, my then 15 month old DD and I ate at Garden Grill and she was brought a children's platter without me even having to ask. I wasn't sure if they would either but they did. They even brought out the kid's dessert for her as well. :goodvibes

This has been my tradition with her on our trips (I have taken her there at 3 months and again at 15 months) while oldest DD and DH go off and do their own thing. Last trip they went to Cape May for dinner and then mini golfing. Have fun!

yeah that. We were pleasantly surprised when they brought dd2 her own kids meal along with her big brothers. :goodvibes

Regarding buffets, yes, you can get her her own plate from the children's section, or anywhere else on the buffet. She doesn't have to literally "eat off your plate."

I think ALL the TS restaurants that weren't buffet either brought dd an extra plate or child's meal at no extra cost. They really are fabulous about taking care of the little ones! :thumbsup2
