What restaurant has better choices for 5 year old with peanut, milk and seafood allergy??

Look at the menus here http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining.htm and determine which restaurant has food you'll all like best.
Have the allergies noted on your reservation.
Remind the CM of the allergies when you check in at the restaurant and at the table.
Once seated, a Chef will come out and discuss options with you.
Coral Reef has more choices.

We have done both though DS only has PA allergy and at the time of our last trip had a resolving egg allergy. Both places have a lot seafood so it may depend on how severe the allergy is. GG is a set menu and one of the items is a fish dish. Both are WDW owned places so both should be good to handle any allergies. All three are common allergies so they should be able to accommodate them without issue. We laughed at the waiter at GG. Waiters can not bring any food to the table of allergy kids without the chef talking to them first. Our guy was new and so on top of it that he would not even bring out glasses of water. Oh, at one time Coral Reef did the peanut butter playdough dessert but if was off the menu last time we were there but you might want to check on that one.

Coral Reef has always been fantastic at handling my kids peanut, treenut and shellfish allergies. The chefs have always been willing to talk to the kids about their likes and dislikes and offer to modify dishes that might otherwise have been unsafe. It's been years since they served peanut butter play-doh, so there's no need to worry about it.

Garden Grill was great for character interaction, but allergy accomodation isn't as generous as other places. The chef told my kids what to avoid, but didn't offer any alternatives. He explained that they didn't have the resources to make modifications to menu items, aside from leaving off a sauce or not serving something, because everything was pre-made and they didn't have non-menu ingredients available. It's been 3 years since we ate there, so maybe they've changed. Hopefully someone with dairy allergies who has been there recently can weigh in.

I found that the chef I dealt with was not well trained in special diets. I am diabetic as well as dairy, mango, shellfish and cashew allergic. I was offered a rice crispie treat for dessert. Not what I consider acceptable for dessert. Haven't been back because I cannot trust them.

Was this at coral reef or garden grill???

We had great experiences with food at both. They were two of the worst for how long it took though. Garden grill the table next to us turned over twice while we were there because our food took so long. Coral reef was nearly empty but DH had to take the boys for a walk because it was so drawn out. Neither was an amount of time we consider normal for TS at Disney, but one day doesn't say much.

It would depend on how severe the seafood allergy is (all seafood or just shellfish?) - is it a digest only one, contact, or airborne? My daughter has a contact issue with shellfish, so we wouldn't go to Coral Reef unless I could wipe down all surfaces she may come in contact with. Coral Reef/fish themed/lots of seafood would make me very nervous.

The seafood allergy is digest only

but don't forget that one of the set menu items at GG is a fish dish so there is fish at EVERY table there and it has to take up a large preparation area in the kitchen. I agree that it has to be a comfort level choice, but one may not be safer than the other.
