Garden Grill or Chef Mickey's?

I'm looking to just do one character meal - more geared for my 3 year old ds. We've been to chef Mickey's and loved all the fun, but the food was really just OK. We will have 3 extra adults with us, so I don't really want to drag them to a buffet with OK food just to please the kids.

I'm looking at Garden Grill - basically the same characters. But is it as much fun as Chef Mickeys? How about the quality of the food? Thanks!

We've had dinner at both Chef Mickey's and Garden Grill. I prefer GG. I like that the food is all brought to your table rather than buffet. The food is really good too. The character interaction is also great at GG. The atmosphere is wonderful as well, since the restaurant slowly rotates around The Land.

Hi

I read somewhere that the Garden Grill was going to stop doing character meals.

We ate at Chef Mickey's in the summer and it was really nice. I would go back again. Fantastic atmosphere. We ate around 9.30am and the resturant was quiet and DS had lots of character interaction.

Worth every penny, or for you american guys, cents.

Garden Grill hands down wins our family's vote. In our experience, the character interaction was 100% better and the food was also much better. In fact, out of 6 character meals we did in August, GG was by far the best at character interaction. We will be there in a little over 2 weeks and we are going to GG our first night and skipping CM all together.

I haven't been to either but based on reviews, I booked the Garden Grill for our character meal.

We have Donald's Breakfastsaurus and Garden Grill booked for our May trip. I was thinking of cancelling Garden Grill, but after reading so many positive reviews about GG, I decided to keep it. Is it just Mickey and Chip and Dale?

I made a reservation today and was told Chip, Dale, Mickey and Goofy.

I also have to say GG hands down. Chef Mickey's had a fun atmosphere, but thats it. We loved both the Atmosphere and food at GG.

We just got back and we really enjoyed the GG. We did not try Chef Mickey's but as someone else posted really liked having the food brought to our table family style. It alleviated everyone having to move or get up when someone wanted more food. The staff here was really friendly and great and very attentive. We did not even have to ask for more of anything our waiter just brought it around. The characters were great and if I remember correctly they came around to our table at least twice during the course of the meal. GG was our favorite meal of the week.

Here is another vote for the GG. We love this restaurant and always try to eat there on our first night at WDW. The food is great and the character interaction is relaxed but fun. Happy planning!

I vote for the GG as well. We weren't all that impressed with Chef Mickey's and thought the food was only mediocre. We had dinner at GG for Thanksgiving and it was wonderful. The food was excellent as was the service. The character interaction was good and we really enjoyed the changing scenery as the restaurant made its rotation. I will be booking reservations there for our next trip but can't say the same for Chef Mickey's. We all kinda felt like "Been there, don't care" after eating there.

I love them both. I have only been to Chef Mickey's for breakfast though, and they have a huge selection of foods on their buffet. I do agree, though, that the character interaction at the Garden Grill is better and their food is also really good. It is also fun how it rotates. The Garden Grill is actually where I'm going for my "birthday meal" next week!

There used to be Pluto too. Maybe they took him out?

I have a picture with Pluto there from June.
