DD loves Chip n Dale. We have a CRT for dinner and a breakfast for Askershus. I have to eat in the castle the night before we leave, so thats a keeper.
should I give up the Askershus 8am breakfast for a dinner at GG?

Its a personal decision, but for my family we would go with Chip and Dale at GG in a heartbeat. Love the character interaction there!

The princesses are good but honestly the food makes everyone much happier at GG for my family. As I said a personal decision, but if you are asking for my opinion...that is what I would choose. But for you...I wonder how attached your DD is to the princeses? if not at all then its a slam dunk GG! :rotfl:

Since you already have a meal with the princesses and your DD loves Chip & Dale, go for GG. I love it there! The food is good, it has great character interactions, I love the atmosphere, and the fact that it slowly rotates is really cool. One minute you're looking over a scene from the Living with the Land boat ride and later in your meal you're looking at the entrance to the restaurant.

I have never been to Akershus before, though.

We've done both but it's been a few years. When we did go, we loved the GG, Chip and Dale were awesomne and the food was very good. Askerhaus we didn't like that much, although the princess interaction was good, we all thought the food was just OK and the whole thing was way overpriced. We love the breakfast at Chef Mickey and Crystal Palace, and this just seemed like a so much less appealing selection. For over $100 (for my family of 5) I didn't think it was worth it.

If you already have a princess meal and your son love C&D go for GG. Just my opinion, I know that others rave about Askerhaus.

Personally, I can't stand the food at Garden Grill, but the character interaction there is terrific. Asherkus is great for princesses, but very overpriced because of the photo package thing now. My vote is for Akershus though.

oh the food at GG is awesome!! the kids do NOT have to eat off the kids menu either (personally I think that menu sucks lol) they give you prime rib, turkey and i forgot what type of fish but it was to die for!! anyway, my son loved it!! chip & dale, goofy, mickey and pluto...they all stopped at the table and it wasn't for a second or two it was for minutes at a time and even though it was busy we got to see them twice plus the restaurant moves to see different scenery during your meal...it was awesome!!

Hard decision...we love Akershus for breakfast, it is a must do each trip we take but since you already have CRT planned and you know your DD loves Chip and Dale, then I would go with GG. We are actually doing both of these restaurants on this trip (the same day too). On my DD7's b-day she requested both Akershus breakfast and GG dinner for her birthday meals.

Garden Grill! It was our favorite last time and we did both princess meals. Akershus is nice and we have enjoyed it...but the interaction at GG is unbeatable. The food was excellent.

We have never done Askershus, but we LOVED GG!! We will definitely be doing that one again next trip. The food was wonderful. Our whole family really enjoyed it!

I guess it depends upon what you're looking for. If character interaction is important, specifically Chip 'n Dale, then I think you should book Garden Grill. But, I will say that NONE of us was thrilled with the food at GG; and we had no problem locating Chip 'n Dale at the parks pretty much every day we were there.

We just didn't care for Garden Grill. It honestly wasn't "bad," it just didn't appeal to us. But, since you're doing the princesses at the castle, it does seem overkill to choose them over the characters at Garden Grill.

I know...I'm no help. I just didn't care for the meal at Garden Grill and wouldn't want to pay Disney prices to eat there again when there are sooooooooooo many other choices!

Another fan of GG here! We liked the food alot, and the character interaction was terrific. We also liked that the seating made it feel a bit like we were dining alone...quite a trick in WDW! Yes, you *can* see the Mickey elsewhere...but we loved that it was a "farmer" Mickey. There is something really neat about seeing a "special" Character.

I can only speak for dinner at Akurhers. We thought the character interaction was wonderful, but I didn't like the food at all. The pizza dd has was down right terrible. My DH liked his food though. Since you are doing dinner with the Princesses already, I would go with Garden Grill to see Chip and Dale. JMO. I bet the breakfast at Akurhers is pretty good, but it is hard to mess up breakfast.
