We really enjoyed GG last trip and it was one of the restaurants that DS7 requested to do this trip. So since its dinner only, it was the first ADR I made when our 180 day window opened.
It's one of our favorites. Really good steak and fish and Chip and Dale were awesome. They caught my ds not eating his veggies and really gave him a hard time. Dale even got down on his knees and begged until DS ate his veggies. Priceless memories and good food. Can't beat it.
We finally had a chance to try this restaurant last week and I absolutely loved most of it.
I could eat the bread and salad and forget about the rest...
The salad was so good I think I finished half the bowl alone. The beef and turkey were great also and DD loved the mac & cheese. She got some roasted drumsticks along with sweet potato fries which I tried... everything was really good. The fish was just ok, a little too fishy for my taste which was strange since it's mahi-mahi.
The only thing we were really disappointed about was dessert. It was whipped cream thingy for DD and some apple crumble with whipped cream thingy. The whipped cream was not too great. They should've just stuck with ice cream.
Other than that, the food was yummo! I would go back again in a heartbeat.

Here's the dessert DS5 got.... nothing too creative.... but the oreo cookie ice cream with oreo cookies as ears was a hit... especially since DS LOVES oreo cookies. That may have been a substitute dessert for his egg allergy.
I am so glad to see this thread because we just decided to give GG a try for DS's birthday dinner next trip. It sounds like we won't be disappointed but I have a question. I totally understand the family style aspect of the meal but what if my kids want to eat more off of the adult platter than the kid's platter, is that allowed?
We were a group of six when we ate dinner there in 8/08. We had to wait quite awhile for a table because most of its tables fit parties of up to four. We wound up being seated in the center of the restaurant--the inner ring.
One of the things that attracted me into trying the restaurant was that it sounded like a cool atmosphere, with rotating through the scenery of the Land boat ride. However, it looked rather dreary. Our view of one side as we rotated was either of a wall or the entrance to the server's station where they dump the dirty dishes. On the other side, we saw the ceiling of the greenhouse in the boat ride, but since the sun had gone down for the evening, it was dark and drab.
We really liked the food, and the characters were great--Chip and Dale are always a blast with the kids! But the dark, dreary atmosphere left much to be desired. If we went again, I'd go on a night when we are a group of four or less, and ask to be seated in the outer ring of tables. And I'd get an earlier ADR so we'd eat before it got completely dark out.
Have you considered the Coral Reef? It's the other table service in Future World. If your family has never eaten there before, you must go. Its atmosphere so unique and beautiful, it's somewhere every WDW guest should try at least once IMO.

It looks the same as what we got but ours wasn't ice cream. It's the same whipped cream thingy as the one that came with the apple crumble. If it was ice cream would be tons better.
