Very excited about trying Garden Grill. We arrive on Sat. 9/27 and plan on a lazy stroll thru Epcot on our first afternoon. Our group is 7 people.....age range from my 91-year-old aunt to my 6-year-old daughter! Thought GG would be a nice "crowd pleaser" for all of us.
Any thoughts/comments? We've never eaten here. Please be painfully honest....we have plenty of time to change!
(P.S.: I kind of wanted LeCellier....but I thought considering the diverse group we had that GG was a better choice!)

First off let me say that LeCellier is great, but for a large group I think you will enjoy Garden Grill. We went in 2001 as part of our Candelight Procession package and all eight of us gave it 2 thumbs up. The kids loved seeing the characters, great way to start your trip. This was also our first big meal there. The food was great too.

Served family style in a skillet was turkey, flank steak, fried catfish, fresh green beans that they grow themselves. They had the usually favs for the kids, nuggets, mac and cheese, mashed sweet potatoes. What a great variety of food. The kids got a kick out of their desserts, cup of mud with worms! We had apple crisp for the adults, but I've heard that they change it from time to time. Anything you like they will bring more out of. I went nuts over the flank steak, it was marinated and tasted great. I know there were other items in the skillets but my mind is a blank as to what they were. Again I want to say the character interation is great, your 6 yo will love seeing Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale dressed like farmers!

We would be dinning here again in December but only have one night planned in Epcot and must please DH with his one request to eat again at LeCellier.

I would not worry at all, there is plenty to please everyone.

For our next trip in Jan., I planned to do the Illuminations Cruise on our Epcot night. This is expensive so I figured we'd just have counter service. Well - my family was bummed, because they wanted to return to a great meal at Garden Grill! We all love it here - food is better than most other character meals and of course there's Mickey!

Go - you won't regret it!

We ate at the Garden Grill twice, DH, me, kids ages 8 and 4 and again when they were 5 and 1 1/2.

We love it! The kids got a kick out of the rotating restaurant. Mickey and Minnie, Chip and Dale all spent a great deal of time at our table and came over at least twice. Mickey and Minnie came over for a group picture and then so did Chip and Dale. We have eaten at many "character" meals, Cindy's Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, etc. and this was the most time the characters spent with us.

The food is such that it suited the pickiest of eaters and was pretty tasty as far as it goes. I thought the price was worth it as well.

Enjoy!

I wouldn't switch your PS, we were glad we tried it last trip. We probably won't eat there next trip because there are so many othr places we want to try. The food was pretty good and our service was fine. My kids liked the whole thing. We asked for a booth on the lower level as people said it was nicer but with 7 you may have to sit on the upper tier?

We really like the Garden Grille. We've eaten there 3 or 4 times. The food is tasty, the atmosphere is fun, and the character interaction is great! It seemed that the characters stay longer than usual, and they often visited us a second time.

They were very nice our first time there, when we asked for plain buttered pasta for my (picky) daughter. They provided it, no problem.

We ate here in December for a late lunch & my hubby enjoyed it more than I did. I am a picky eater & am afraid there seemed to be a lot of food I couldn't eat. I didn't have any of the catfish, green beans, or cheesecake dessert. The characters came around once & some were better than others. Mickey was great - he wouldn't allow me to be in a picture with him with my Tigger hat on. :D Then he threw my pen down when he realized it also had Tigger on it - he wouldn't give me an autograph with the Tigger pen & instead used the crayons on the table. It was pretty funny.

We may return here again in the future, but for the money, I wasn't full after this meal. However, my hubby did really enjoy it. Hope this helps! :D

We really enjoyed our lunch at the Garden Grille in July and will be eating there again. My 2 kids are picky teenaged eaters. Even though we had to pay adult price for them, the waitress gladly brought out a large skillet of "real" food for the four of us to share, plus a smaller skillet of "kid" food for them.

The character interaction was wonderful. Pluto pulled my daughter's chair 10 feet away from the table....with her still in it! We had a great time and it was full of Disney magic.

Enjoy!

We tried the GG for the first in Dec and LOVED it. I can't believe it took us so long to try this gem! Great food and great character interaction! DD (13) also loved it. The waitress brought out both skillets(kids and adults) for her also!

I would try this one for lunch. We did supper last time. We have 2 adults and 2 kids. It was around $90, tip included by the time we were done. For us, that is one pricey meal!

This is one of my favorite restaurants. We usually eat here twice a year. I believe the lunch and dinner are the same price now but I could be wrong. For a while the lunch was cheaper but it did not include the salad. The salad is my favorite part of the meal. The veggies are grown there and it is extra good.

Did you know they do an ice cream social here. It's much cheaper then a whole meal and your kids won't be missing out on the Garden Grill fun.

Which characters are at the ice cream social?

Is Minnie frequently at the GG for dinner even though she isn't mentioned as a character to expect?

We love the Garden Grill! We have eaten there twice now, and both times the service and food was excellent!!!

The food tastes like home cooking, and they keep bringing you more of whatever you want. We have two teen DD's and the character interaction was still great even though they are older.

You will love it!!!:teeth:

We've eaten here twice for lunch and will probably eat here again this year. As stated above, the character interaction is terrific! I've eaten at Crystal Palace 3 x, CRT once, GG 2 x, and Donald's breakfast at AK once. The characters at Garden Grill were the least rushed of all! Our last trip, my daughter was 2 1/2. We had 3 tables- 11 people. Chip and dale visited at least 3 times. They both pulled out a chair and sat my DD on their lap- because she was so short and wanted to hug and love on them. It was terrific! Before this meal on that trip, she was really scared of the characters. But they spent so much time with us there that she quickly overcame that fear! I highly recommend it!

Yuck. Sorry, I know we're in the minority, but we didn't like it at all. The only good thing was the character interaction. Other than that - I won't even give it a second chance. Hated the food, the server was a yutz and it the bill was way too high for a meal that was terrible. We were all hungry when we left, so we ate somewhere else after.
