daydreaming about our december trip and working the spreadsheets over pretty good at the same time, I was wondering what people's opinions are of GG for breakfast vs lunch? I am planning to book with the candlelight processional package so would do one of these to get the earliest showing of CP. I had been assuming lunch but my kiddo is at Disney right now with his dad (divorced but on good terms, lucky kiddo ;) ) and doing garden grill today for lunch. I had it on my list for the "next trip" since I took him september 2014 but wondered if maybe I should do something different and go for breakfast instead of lunch.

Kiddo is a bit of a picky eater but seems like he would do ok with that food especially with sauces on the side. Breakfast is always fine as he can eat his weight in mickey waffles and bacon.

Thanks for opinions :)

We did the GG for breakfast this trip and we loved it. I am still dreaming about the cinnamon rolls. The character interaction was fantastic and we will definitely be going back next trip.

yum, yeah, that looks good. The rest of my plans involve 3 character breakfasts first few days while we are on DxDDP then nothing for a few days. had originally planned garden grill lunch but BOTH the breakfast and lunch look pretty basic so wondering if it would be better for our "flow" of the overall trip to do breakfast again instead of lunch and leave lunch more flexible in epcot since there are so many good choices. It's a few $$ cheaper but not enough for it to be a factor really, but it puts the planned thing at the beginning of the day rather than in the middle.

um how many people was that food for? it is just me and my son, please say that is for 4 and not for 2!!!!!

We had three and we got basically what you see in Leafsgirl36's photos. And our server kept asking if we wanted more. It's a lot of food, but you just eat what you can.

We've never done lunch at GG, but LOVED breakfast. We did 3 prepark opening character breakfasts this last trip and this one was hands down our favorite.

maybe it is the cold dreary weather but seriously leaning breakfast instead of lunch. It is not like the lunch menu was super thrilling to me either. It seems to be well reviewed but is generally pretty basic as well. Breakfast is always a big hit with my kiddo - we are also doing Ohana, Crystal Palace and Tusker House.

Never done lunch, but we loved the breakfast. It was fun being in Epcot before it opened too...got some really cool pictures out front with no one else in them.

That was for 2 of us, my husband is a big eater and we couldn't eat it all :-)
I know you just have to eat what you want but dang that is a lot of food for me and an 8 year old! should be interesting :) kind of a shame that they waste so much but i guess it is more efficient for wait staff and doesn't make people feel cheated either.

Is the cinnamon roll thing just like jumbled up cinnamon buns or does it have other stuff in it? (Like nuts - IMHO cinnamon rolls should NOT crunch.)

We ate at Garden Grill for breakfast and did it pre-park opening. (8:10 I think was our reservation time?) Then we when we were done we were right there for Soarin, which we didn't FP but waited 5-10 minutes in standby.

The food was amazing, and as Leafsgirl36's pictures show, it was plentiful. I loved the character interaction and the revolving portion of the restaurant was pretty cool, too.

We did breakfast 2 weeks ago and it was delicious. There was barely anyone there so we got to see the characters 3 times! With Soarin closed and our fastpasses booked, we went for an ADR of 8:40am. We're going back in December and I may plan a much later time around brunch and then have a late dinner in World Showcase.

No one is voting for the lunch, huh? I admit I could bury my face in those tater tots right now!

DS has food allergies, so we opted for lunch. (dairy/egg/nuts/sesame- I think it would be hard for him to see all that yumminess). We did an 11:30 reservation and thought it was great. We were able to do a bunch of stuff in the future area then sit down to lunch. Character interaction was great. I think everyone stopped by at least 6 times. I have a 2 year old and a 7 year old and it was like the characters were babysitters. I was able to eat, while they entertained the kids. We head back in August and are doing the same. Meal took about an hour. I can definitely see the advantage (if you can get there early no problem) of a pre park opening meal.

We loved lunch at GG. Turkey and macaroni and cheese are two of my kid's favorite food groups! Everything we ate was wonderful, and it was the best character interaction of any meal at Disney. Pluto taught my son to fetch then took him for a walk. :rotfl2: It was priceless!

Love the set-up and family-style dining, as long as the menu appeals to your family. We will be doing breakfast next trip, and I can't wait for those cinnamon rolls!

Wow those pics are awesome! Breakfast looks great! We always do dinner at Garden Grill, and are this year too. Breakfast will have to be in the lineup for the next trip after this year!

We did breakfast at GG in December, I am not a cinnamon roll person but I have to admit I loved the ones at GG. Everything else was great to but the cinnamon roll cake thingy was the best. Lots of character time as it wasn't that crowded saw some of them twice. It was also interesting to watch them escort the Soarin' crowd in as well.

Just wanted to say those Cinnamon Rolls look amazing, I miss the Main Street bakery cinnamon buns, this looks like it could come close to those.

Before they went to dinner only, we always did lunch here and it was a great break in our main Epcot day. That being said, breakfast wasn't an option then and since my kids love breakfast foods, but are not big eaters first thing in the morning, I might consider shooting for the latest possible seating time for breakfast so it would count for lunch. We did this at Royal Akerhaus on our last trip and it worked great!
