Garden grill and Soarin

We have an 8:10AM garden grill breakfast reservation. Should we be able to make it to do Soarin' as the park opens? We got a test track fast pass but my boys would love to try to ride soarin as well. We don't want to have to rush through garden grill though

Get into Epcot as early as the CMs at the gate will let you and head quickly to Garden Grill.
Ask for your check as soon as the server takes your drink orders.
Don't dawdle with the characters.
Shallow without chewing...



On second thought, just see how it goes that morning...
and remember that the front gate guests MIGHT be let into the rides before the
top of the hour.

I did this last Monday and it worked perfectly. One thing to consider is to ask for your bill before your entree platter comes so you can get up and leave as soon as you are done eating. The service is good there and at that time of the day the resturant isn't full so the characters come around pretty quick.

In my opinion sounds doable but a little close. What time does Garden Grille open? You could try getting there early. Restaurants will take you 30 minutes prior to the reservation (at least for dinner).

Even if you don't get done with breakfast early enough to beat the people who rope drop, the wait for Soarin should be pretty low at that time of the morning. As mentioned above, get there early and go to the restaurant as soon as they will let you through. But primarily be sure to enjoy your breakfast and the characters. You should be fine.

We had an 8:10 Garden Grill in June and we ate (leisurely), saw all the characters, and were the second family in line at Soarin'. When we got off the ride, the wait was at 40 minutes.

I'll share my most recent experiences, with and without a GG reservation:

In May, on both of my Epcot days (5/1 and 5/5), I did not follow the crowd of rope drop people straight to Soarin'. One day I did Nemo first and one day I wandered slowly over there taking pictures, and ended up with a 10 minute wait one day and 15 the next.

In December (12/21), we had an 8:00am Garden Grill reservation and were finished eating at 8:40 (and had been visited by the characters twice, which was fun!), and as we were leaving to go line up for Joy and Sadness, guests were flooding inside after having been let into the park early. If we'd have gone right to the Soarin' line, we'd have been one of the first to ride.

It will vary depending on time of year, but I really think you should be fine and be able to ride Soarin' with a reasonable wait right after your breakfast.

We did it no problem. Make your waitress/waiter aware that you want to try to get there before the herd comes through. We had 8:10am ressie, ate, and met all the characters and he had us out around 8:45. We went on without wait and it wasnt a full ride either. When we got out we went upstairs to use the bathrooms and the mass of people started to come through. If you arent going to order any extras then you can also ask to pay ahead which will allow you to leave when you want to.

We did this with an 8:10 reservation. We were seated at 8:05. Ordered our drinks and asked for check. Our server knew why and she was very quick with our food. Food is ready when you get there so no real waiting. We saw all characters twice and Chip three times. Great interactions. we left and stopped in the restroom and then walked into the line just ahead of the crowd coming in. It was great.

Just get there early and they will seat you at the same time as guests with 8:00 reservations. Let your waiter/waitress know your plan and they will more than likely be very accommodating! Ours was!!! We weren't rushed at all, and were first in line for Soarin'!

We just did this on Monday. We were sat at 8:15 and had eaten met Chip and Pluto twice and Mickey and Dale once. We were on the ride by 8:50 I think we were the last group before rope droppers entered as our theatre only had people in section B and the next ride was full. We used rider swap, so by 9:10 my 3 year old had ridden it twice and we were on our way to our first FP.

We did this when we went and we practically walked on Soarin'. We didn't have to rush our meal but make sure you take care of the bill at the beginning of the meal so you can leave as soon as you're ready. Get there early and they'll seat you first come first serve. They won't make you wait till 8:10.

We did this and my wife regretted it (and reminds me a lot about that). She has forced me to book a 10:20 reservation for our next trip so we can take our time and enjoy everything.

The food there is fantastic (much better than the character buffet breakfasts IMO) and we rushed thru eating just to get to Soarin. We were the first family seated at the restaurant on the morning we went (which was cool as chip and dale escorted us to our table). Obviously others have posted an opposite experience but for us it was an expensive meal to rush thru and not enjoy. YMMV.
