Garden Grill 4pm Reservation

Me and my family are going to WDW for the first time in a few months and I'm still kinda clueless about everything. Lots of planning involved! One concern I have is that I made reservations for the Garden Grill for 4pm. Now I find out that they do not open untill 4:30pm. Was my 4pm reservation a mistake or will I just have to wait till 4:30 to be seated? Should I attempt to change my reservation to 4:30? I have also read on here that some character meals do some sort of first family thing. Does Garden Grill do this? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Nope, you're totally okay with your 4:00 ressie.
Garden Grill is a favorite of ours and we like to get the earliest as possible.

We've had 4:00 a few times before, and yes, they are open.
I think it depends on time of year and crowds/demand that sometimes hours fluctuate a bit.
One time we got a 3:55 ADR. Thought for sure I've seen as early as 3:30 before for one of our trips last year come up.

I've never seen Garden Grill do any type of first family thing.
