I'll be eating there on my upcoming trip and I've often seen people on here suggest one floor over the other, usually the first floor i think. What particularly makes first floor better than the 2nd?

The view.

LOTS of good photos from Meal Trip helps you get idea of restaurant layout.

Do you mean the outer booths vs. the inner booths?
The "lower level" outside booths while revolving- you can view Living with the Land. It's very cool to watch while eating- the kids loved it.
I do not believe you see anything in the "upper level" inner booths.

First floor also feels very private while dining as you can't see any other tables from your booth, just the 'living with the land' scenes.

First floor is very private. I was delighted they could accommodate all 7 of us in a first floor booth. Looked like they could accommodate up to 10 people in a large booth.

Being a solo adult, I’m going in expecting to be in the non-view section. IF I get one of the tables with a view I will just consider it pixie dust.

Note that high chairs can only be placed at upper level tables. Don’t know if that affects you, but wanted to mention just in case.

Do you think they'd put a party of 2 on the lower level if I request it? Its just me and a friend

As a party of 2 we have been seated in both levels. Personally I prefer the lower level. I have not tried requesting to be seated on a particular level, just luck of the draw. It definitely felt more chaotic on the upper level.
