Garage Sale!

Every year our neighborhood does a HUGE sale, that a realtor organizes and advertises for. I decided to participate this year, figuring I would only do it Saturday, and hope to make $100 or so to go towards my Disney World fund. Well, I started carting my stuff out around 2, and by 4 I had sold $110!! And I still have tomorrow- we didn't even put our big ticket item out yet- a nice sofa! I think I will easily hit the $200 mark for my trip. WAAAAHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't it great? We already had one in the Spring which helped pay for our cruise and we are gearing up for another next weekend. We get lots of stuff from people who dont want it and throw it all out there.

had one a couple of weeks ago--took forever to plan, etc.--put a lot of time into it

despite the five finger discounts that happened the last day we made about $650 to put towards our FTP payments

HERE'S A LITTLE TIP:
When you're waiting on customers to show up and you have a few minutes to yourself you can seperate all your quarters and pre-1982 pennies for the WDW penny pressing machines

Great! My aunt just decided to have one in a couple of weeks also and asked me to join her. I hope I do that well!

Well, didn't quite make my goal, but I have $150 to put away for the trip. Our couch still hasn't sold...the sale goes thru tomorrow but I'm beat. I just have it out front for $50 OBO. Maybe it will sell still. I am taking $100 of the $800 we are getting from the gov't to put in my stash.

And don't worry about the couch--you never know, it just might get sold after all GSs are very exhausting, but to be able to get rid of stuff, get paid for it, and know it's going to a great use (WDW) makes it all worthwhile

OK this has nothing to do with the garage sale. But why should the pennies be before 1982 for the penny pressing machines. this is something I haven't heard before?

they started putting zinc into pennies then--zinc will cause silvery streaks, etc. in a pressed penny
