I've done yard sales for years. I've sold single items via Craigslist previously.
However, I'm currently doing a big clean out. Too much to list via individual ads. Too much to hold onto until beautiful spring/summer weather. I want to try to hold a sale in March or April but we will still have snow on the ground at the rate its been falling this winter.
I'll take photos of most items. Price & list in ad. Include a link to a site with all the photos. Will list the days & times of the sale. Multiple weekends if needed. I can leave it all set up in the garage. I'll hang blankets over things in the garage that are not for sale.
My question is:
Should I list the address in the ad or should I make people contact me for the address?
I see some ads without addresses. So I'm thinking there must be a safety concern I'm not thinking of? If it was a newspaper ad, I would list the address, but people wouldn't have already seen what I was selling. Thoughts?
I've never had a yard sale where it was ONLY listed on Craigslist. Is that enough? Might not put out signs until weather is better. Parking is a bit of a problem right now with all the snowbanks. Hope its better by March or April.
Anyone ever done a Craigslist yard sale off season? Was it successful?
