Hi everyone -

I'm a new member of these boards and have been getting some great information. I just wanted to let everyone know that GAP did major markdowns again this morning. All price kills (anything marked down that ends in $0.97 not $0.99) was halved. So things that were $9.97 are now $4.97, $12.97 are now $6.97, etc..

But I'd hurry...things at my store were flying out the door.

Thanks I got a cute black tote bag for $6.97 that has alot of room in it and a clear large tote bag for $6.97 for my cruise. Thanks!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much! We're going to be at the mall on Friday. I saw they already had swimsuits marked down. Never too early to think about next summer!

THANKS SO MUCH!

I just posted on the 9th about markdowns that the girl said they had just made, so after reading your post, I went back to the store and got price adjustments. I was able to get another pair of pants and some swim trunks and I still got $60 back.

Once again, I really do appreciate your post.

Lori P. :)

No Problem!! I'm glad I could help .

Here's another tip...anything that is left tomorrow (Saturday) should be slashed again in half. So if it's now $4.97 it will be $2.97. But I seriously doubt there is anything left in my store by tomorrow, I was amazed how much sold yesterday.

They had nothing in the Trumbull, CT store a few weeks back. Everything was mark down plus an additional 25% off. Nothing left.

The Trumbull store rarely has anything as far as markdowns, but the Stamford one is great. I do know that they mark down items every Wednesday and a major markdown once a month.
I am going there today at lunchtime, thanks for the tip.

Markdowns are no longer on just Wednesdays -- they try to "mix it up" these days to keep people from knowing when they are coming. But they do tend to be about every 2-3 weeks apart.

There are stores that don't keep their clearance items - those are the stores that people tend to buy items at full price. So they ship the items to stores that cater more to the bargain shopper.

Great sale

I was able to get 2 pairs of denim capris, matching denim jacket, denim skirt, hoodie, and tank top for $26.00.

Thanks again for the update

I bought a bunch of stuff on the 4th w/the additional 25%. Do you think they would give me a price adjustment on that?

I would give it a try. I haven't seen any official word on the subject so I'm not sure. It might depend on the manager at the specific store but you won't know unless you ask.

Hi guys,

I used to work for Gap, Inc. and these types of markdowns are called price kills and they do not do price adjustments for those. You can always try but if the store is following policy they will not do it.

FYI

I went to my local Gap store for price adjustments on everything I purchased within the last 14 days.

Some of it was regular price and some was purchased over the 4th of July sale.

They would not adjust the 4th of July stuff. This seemed odd to me. I wasn't returning it-just wanted the adjustment. I called the 1-800 number when I got to my car and she said they are indeed supposed to do price adjustments on the stuff purchased over 4th of July as long as you are not trying to return it. I was a little upset as I had just loaded my 3 kids in the car and was halfway home.

She transferred me to the other Manager of the store I had just left and she did my adjustment over the phone with my receipt information.

The 1st manager at the store yelled at me when i told her the other store was doing adjustments. She demanded to know what store I was talking about and was very rude to me.

If they won't adjust stuff purchased over 4th of July-have them call Gap store customer relations from the store and they will tell them the correct information.

I did not ask what the adjustment policy was on the stuff that is purchased during this latest sale.

So, there you have it.

Does anyone know if the Gap Outlets are reducing prices?
The only Gap store near me is an outlet store.

Isn't it GREAT! I just bought tons of stuff for my DS and DD for next summer! Shirts, pants, jeans, skirts, etc. I got probably 10+ items for less than $50!

GAP RULES!

Just an update. I went in today. They adjusted both my receipts for a grand total of $75! The girl rang the 1st receipt thru and then said she didn't think they could do it. So I told her "My friend" (thanks FloridaFam) called coporate and they said yes they do adjust. She got the manager and the manager said as long as the cash register will do it it's fine.

Oh, and the adjustment actually works out in your favor because they don't account for the 25% off. So one item I bought was $6.99 less 25%. The item is now selling for 3.99, so they gave me back $3, (when I actually paid something like $5.24.)

Make sure if you are having the July 4th receipts adjusted that you do it soon as you have to do it within 2 weeks.

:thumbsup2

nicolepa,

:thumbsup2 It's nice to have a new best friend. :teeth:
