Sigh....has it been that long? OK, TIBM is from River Country or Discovery Island...

Awwww. . . . I was hoping someone would have that. I loved River Country, but I don't have time to go through all my dad's old pics to find one!

Off topic but I remember River Country as a little kid- Is it gone now? Where was it or what is it now?

You can see River Country via Google Earth, and I think if you take a boat to Ft Wilderness, you can see it that way, as well. It's quite near the building at Ft Wilderness where the Hoop Dee Doo Revue is held and there are walkways between them, but I'm not sure if they're blocked off.

There's still mention of River Country here and there around WDW, so they haven't tried to pretend that it never existed, for whatever that's worth.

I read something a few weeks ago, IIRC, that said that they were considering doing something with it, or having some sort of meeting there, or something? I don't really remember the details. :confused3

Unfortunately, I have no pictures of it... I may (may!) have a very old Discovery Island photo somewhere but nothing that I could find without much digging.

River Country was Disney's first water park. It was very different from the modern slide focused waterparks. I think the themeing was something like Fourth of July at a mid-American water hole. The focus was more on playing in the pools, sand, and fountains and less on big slides. It was a great place to get away for a relaxing summer day to break up a busy week at the theme parks. I guess part of the problem was that it was relaxing because it never seemed too crowded. That means is probably didn't make as much money as was needed. Maybe they'll reopen it as a seasonal thing now that WDW attendance seems to be very high again.

Alright, TIBM is from River Country, Discovery Island, or a Disney miniature golf course...

My only visit as a child was in February, we wore winter coats so I didn't get to visit River Country. Here is one from a miniature golf course-Winter Summerland

wow, this has really slowed down... let's pick it back up....

TIBM is the WDW entry sign...

Gdad,

How about you make a slight modification to the rules.

"if no picture is presented withing xx hours then the Image Below automaticly reverts to a picture of Mickey Mouse"

Since everyone has a picture of the Mouse it would keep the game moving.

sorry, wasn't able to get back on after posting the parasail...

Here's Illuminations from October 06...
