TIBM is from the 70's.

that is what you meant.... right? ;)

I have at least a couple in front of me (onride photo from 20,000 Leagues and a really horrible Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse photo) but the prints are pretty damaged... so I'll see if anyone else can do better first. :) They're square prints - I don't remember what camera was used. I THINK it was before my Kodak Disc camera, I'm almost positive this was from our first trip, which was in the '70s. Gotta see if the parents have any photos from those early trips...

Got nothing here! My first visit was 2003. My parents were there (here now) in the early 80s, I've go TONS of slides that my dad took.

I'll give it a few more hours, otherwise I'll post the 20,000 Leagues photo, which suffers from pretty heavy print damage.

My grandfather left behind a zillion slides and my father and uncle and I have talked about different ways of scanning them. My Dad's got a pretty decent Epson with slide scanner, but supposedly the higher-model Epson is the best of the type.

I'm still hoping to find a great-quality negative scanner for a decent price - I'd rather scan the negatives than the dusty, scratched prints. It's also much easier to keep everything in order that way.

Well, I have quite a few from '59 thru today but have no way to scan them. They are 35mm slides. :sad2:

OH!!! You've got to get yourself a slide scanner. Those would be some cool pictures to see.

I picked up a pulstek slide scanner off amazon a few months back so I could scan my in-laws slides and put them on a disk for them to have on their computer. It works pretty well, though it is time consuming. There are also places you can find on the net and probably locally that will convert your slides to a DVD for about 35-50 cents per slide. Its a lot quicker and a lot less time consuming than doing it yourself, though it is more expensive.

I just put an Epson 4490 scanner on my Amazon wish list. It can be had from Beach for $175 and supposedly does a superb job on slides and negatives. A true film/slide scanner can do slightly better but at a much, much higher cost.

For old pictures, every once in a while someone will post a collection of old 70s or earlier photos on one of the Disney usenet groups. I have a bunch but not handy (and they're not mine so I wouldn't post them here.)

OK, if no one else has stepped up, here it is. I warned you that it'd be ugly but it is what it is!

Yes, that is from 20,000 Leagues! Note the big clam near the center. Unfortunately some of the pictures managed to stick together years ago. I know I have some more somewhere but I have no idea where. Note the square print and the rounded corners - very '70s!

OK, how about something similarly "vintage" (ie, probably on film, not digital) but hopefully not as challenging:

TIBM is Dreamfinder and Figment. Preferably as characters walking about Epcot! Figment alone does not count!

:rotfl2: For some reason, I thought "the 70s" meant something from Pop Century.

Thanks for the pic. I know people have them out there, but they are difficult because of the format. I have a few from the 70's (or possibly 1980). I know there are some of a parade, and one of me with Tigger. They're not scanned, but maybe someday I'll scan them and start an old picture thread. :thumbsup2

Good point, I hadn't even made that connection! I have some pics from the 80s section in January... mostly of the Pac-Man stuff.

I'd feel really dumb now if that's what was meant, and I go and post a crummy photo. :teeth:

C'mon now, surely SOMEone has a picture of Dreamfinder and Figment?

Buzz looks like he needs to be taken with flash off to get the face properly, with no reflections on the helmet - maybe I'll see what I can do with the 50mm 1.4 and 800 or 1600ISO. ;) Assuming we get to ride it - it was closed last time we were at WDW and too busy last time we were at DL, so I've never ridden it... It'll be open this time though. Not happy about Splash Mt and Rock-n-Rollercoaster being closed most of the trip though. :(

I took this one last year with my Canon S30 with a flash. It might also have something to do with the angle and distance.

I also have one taken in '01 with my Nikon N70 film SLR with the flash going off and the face is washed out. That pic was taken at a pretty close distance. I don't have it scanned though.

OK, looks like we'll all be stroking our long, white beards by the time we get a Dreamfinder and Figment photo!

Here's an easier one - how about a shot of one of those enormous cinnamon rolls from the Main St Bakery at WDW? They are high on my list of things I'm looking forward to enjoying on my next trip.

Looks like someone needs to put this train back on its tracks... ;)

Maybe we need a time rule; something like no picture for 12 or 24 hours opens it up so that someone can post whatever they want. Apparently requests for combinations of characters (one of which is defunct) and for specific confections are not as common as the poster hoped.
