Hi everyone- I'm thinking about getting a few gameboy videos for my kids for travel. It seems to make sense, rather than buy a player with a 3" inch screen for dvd's since they already own the gameboys... :3dglasses anyway, does anyone have these? Do the kids like them? or do they get bored with them too quickly? And ,are there any good deals to be found for these? I don't want to pay 19.00 apiece...just wondering, since they love their games already...thanks! :goodvibes

Target had a few on clearance the other day for 7.48....I saw Pokemon ones but I'm not sure what other ones they had.

Are you looking for gameboy advance games? Costco has a bunch for 12.99 and 13.99.

I am getting my daughter the gameboy advance SP for christmas and getting the games there.

Hi - My kids each have 2 of these videos - I think at the time - 1 year ago - they were $10 @ for 2 1/2 hour episodes of Sonic & Pokemon. Not so easy to find around here anymore.
Kids loved them and watched on the plane trip home from Houston to NY last summer - I would rather spend the money on new game cartridges or upgrades. They haven't watched them in a long time now...and I felt then that was exactly what would happen. Both of my kids now have the Nintendo DS's and spend many happy hours in Picto-Chat and their own games.
Also depends on how well your kids travel...
Good luck!

You can look for pre-owned versions at Funcoland, EBGames and Gamestop (either online or B&M stores). Online, the videos range in price from $7.99 - $9.99 for the older ones.

My own experience with DS has been that he doesn't care for the GBA videos. I think that he may have watched them a couple of times and now they are gathering dust. I don't even remember which ones he has (he probably doesn't either).

Another option is to rent the videos from Gamefly.com. It's like a NetFlix for video games. You can get a 2-month prepaid subscription for $21.95 (2 videos out at a time) or a free 14-day trial at Bestbuy.com.

We have the first game boy for dd7 and Game Boy color for dd9, got it VERY cheap at a used video game store. Games are like 5 to 7 bucks!!! My kids really like them and it keeps them busy for a long while!! They are not advance but my girls do not care at all!! The Color can play the older game cartriges but the old GB can not play the color GB games...they also have video now colors but they get bored with the same old disks!! We also have a couple portable DVD players but I am not allowing that or the Video Now's on the plane!! Driving is another story, we have a VCR/TV in the van (would like a flip down DVD in my next car in a year...) but I do not allow them to watch TV in the car unless on a trip for an hour or more!!! Hope that helps!

Thanks for the advice... :earsboy: - I may try to se if Target has some on clearance...or try to get some used :sunny:
