Would someone tell me about the Galley Tour?? popcorn::

(or post a link if there is an explanation somewhere else)

What about pics that you took on the tour?

I was disappointed! It was very short and we were not shown anybody actually working. And to top it off the cookies were cold and hard! I think it is the ONLY thing that Carnival does better than DCL!

Well, our cookies were warm...but as above, it's about 15 minutes. You see the facility while it is closed. In fairness, I don't think the health department would be to thrilled about hundreds of "extra" people walking thru a working kitchen. We saw some of the equipment, some wedding cakes ready to serve, some CM paperwork, etc. Worth doing once, but certainly not a big deal.

On the Magic we needed tickets with staggered times on them--no problem getting them from GS, they just wanted to do smaller groups, so started them in 10 or 15 minute intervals.

There was no galley tour offered on our last cruise. Are they being offered again? I enjoyed it the first time we did it. I thought the information was fascinating!

We had one on ours. I agree with the other posters, it was pretty boring. It was interesting to see how big the kitchen area was, but obviously they weren't working at the time.

The cookies were warm, but we could hardly hear the chef giving us the tour. Interesting, but not enough that I would do it again.

Here are a few pics:

I would agree with the others...not all that exciting. But we did have warm cookies!! It's short, so worth doing I guess...but not something I would do twice.

i loved the galley tour - absolutely fascinating how they can be so clean and have that much food to prepare. our tour was about an hour!

We really enjoyed this and it lasted about 20 mins - the cookies were warm and delicious but I only pinched the corner of DH's because we had not long had breakfast. It was really interested to hear how catering for so many people was managed and amazing to hear just how few chefs create the masterpiece desserts that you see at the dessert buffet. It was all so clean and shiny too - that must take some doing! I would recommend it.

I loved the galley tour that I took in April on the Magic. The cookies were warm and our tour lasted about 30min.
