I'm planning on a trip to the Galapagos in 2012. DH and I do two trips a year, one with DD, one solo. Typically, our solo trip is in the summer, when DD travels up to visit her father. We take a family trip ( DDs ( 13 YO ) choice ) in the winter.

Anyway, DD is not interested in the Galapagos at all..:confused3 so DH and I will do it solo. I was planning on booking the trip for June/July, but I've noticed that though the air temp is constant, the water in our summer months is cold. I plan on bringing my wetsuit regardless. But, I'm wondering, is the weather much better in the winter months?

I haven't been yet, but I chose to schedule our upcoming trip during the "wet" season. From what I've read the dry season from July-Dec is cooler and more overcast. And the wet season is warmer (80's during the day) with short cloudbursts. I could have gone either way with the weather. The main reason for my decision was the water conditions, which are warmer and less likely to be choppy during the wet season. After our trip in March, I'll give you my firsthand perspective. :yay:

Please do! I can't tell you how excited I am about this trip. I want to hear all the details, though my trip may be a little different than yours as I'm booking Lindblad.

I booked Lindblad too We'll be sailing on the Endeavour.

Sweeet! I check this board from time to time, but if you don't mind sending me a PM as a reminder when you start writing your report, I'd love it! Thanks!

I went in May. The water was definitely cold, but swimmable even without a wetsuit. The air temperature was very warm (actually rather hot). I am prone to sea-sickness but didn't have a problem (and we were in a little boat), though I was pro-active about it.

It was an AMAZING trip and I'd highly recommend it. I didn't go with ABD (or Lindblad) though.
