The admin at my school make me laugh.
they just recently updated the dress code for the fun of it.
We are no longer allowed to wear sweatpants (no reason given, 'it's not up for discussion, which means 'because i told you so'. The only reason I can think of is it's easy to pants a person that way.. but that doesn't happen...).
We are also not allowed to roll up our jeans. Like even if they're just too long, the principal actually asked someone to uncuff their jeans..
No frays either, if your jeans are fraying, it's a violation. So, if I uncuff my pants, they get frayed which means either way I'm in violation.
Also, goth/emo make up is violated, which is annoying because nobody gives a crap about that anymore, it's not distracting..

We also can't wear shirts for clubs/groups/teams that are outside of the school. So if it's some sort of sports jersey, or maybe even a bible camp shirt.. nope, sorry.

UGG's are apparently banned too lol, I have NO idea why.

It's ridiculous, they're doing a lot of changes but giving any reason other than 'because' for it. And it was just the principals decision, the teachers don't get it either (they also have more rules, they get one casual friday a month. apparently other teachers can tell what school we are just because the teachers can't dress down on Friday's anymore).

There has been talk of uniforms recently. I don't know if it's just been students assuming that's what's coming, or if that's the principals eventual plan. I won't be surprised when hoodies are banned, and then just plain old sweaters...
I would just find it funny for a public school to have uniforms.. at least here anyways. The closest school with uniforms is like, an hour and a half away. None of the other schools have this many rules.

Apparently we also can't wear hairnets xD I found that amusing.

Those are some insane rules. The bottoms of my jeans are frayed so badly.

The dresscode around here is pretty much non-existant. Just don't come to school naked or anything.

Oh wow. I remember when the school year started and we had a new principal. It was awful. We had just about all the same rules as you doo. But slowly, kids started wearing the stuff and then it got to the point where everyone was so they just let it alone.

My older pairs are really bad, and when my parents are busy laundry is once a week, so I hve to wear them sometimes.
And man, they're FRAYYYYYED.
This dresscode like blew my mind. I guess the principal really hates like everything that everyone wears at the school.
Like we have some pretty scraggiyl looking goth/emo/whatever's that wear nothing but ruined jeans and dark make up.

And then there's a few kids who wear nothing but sweats. Like everyday, it's sweatpants. It's mostly the sweatpants that's creating a stir because THEY'RE SOLD IN THE SCHOOL STORE. Like wth? They're also given to sports teams. they're not cheap either, but now we can't wear them?

We can't wear sweatpants or ripped jeans. We can't wear tank tops. We can't wear hats (and this wouldn't be much of an issue if the school was actually heated!). Girls can't show their cleavage, but guys can show off their underwear (this is mostly because a lot of teachers don't want to get the whole "What?! You're looking at my chest!" speech from the girls and they just don't see that much of the guys when they're not sitting down in class). We just got into a huge debate about whether or not the guys could paint their bare chests at sporting events (they can now). No undergarments (including camis) can be shown on girls. Hoods and sunglasses can't be worn inside (or with the case of hoods, on school grounds during school hours). "Gang related apparel" is banned, so no bandanas or "gang" colours can be worn (because we totally have gangs in nothern New Hampshire).

Yeah. It's odd.

But the oddest thing at my school:

A weapon is defined as any instrument capable of inflicting bodily harm. Included within the definition of weapon, but not intended as a limitation on the definition, are switchblade knives, gravity knives, pilum ballistic knives, cane swords, electronic dart guns, chukka sticks and Kung-Fu stars.

Yes. They're specifically mentioned. For those who don't know, "chukka sticks" is a different way of saying "nunchaku" (nunchuck).

I'll post mine. Hoods, sunglasses & hats kind of makes sense. We are not allowed to wear sagging, or jeans that are too big unless we have a belt on.

A. Clothing or articles of clothing related to a group or gang which, in the judgment of the principal/designee, may provoke others to violence, disrupt school operations, or intimidate students and staff members, including, but not limited to:
o Bib-type attire with straps down
o Bandannas, hair nets, initialed belt buckles, chains (wallet, watch, key)
o Long belts hanging down in front
o Pants which were slit or frayed at the cuff line
o Pants worn below the waist (sagging)
o Pants which do not fit without a belt
o Pants which have been altered to fit around the waist
o Pants cut-off below the knee
o Shorts below the knee that have been cut off and not hemmed
o Shorts worn below the knee with socks up to the pant line
o White ribbed tank top undershirts worn as outer garment
o Clothing which advertises non-school related groups/clubs
o Non-prescriptive dark glasses worn in the classroom

B. Clothing with inappropriate messages (e.g. alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, sexually related, obscene symbols/pictures).

C. Undergarments without appropriate outer clothing or Outer clothing, which exposes underclothing.

D. Swimming attire

E. Spiked collars, spiked wristbands, or other clothing, jewelry, or accessories that could pose a threat to student physical well-being and safety. This includes Goth make-up and accessories.

F. Clothing that is excessively revealing for a school environment
o Shirts exposing shoulders and/or backs and/or midriffs (spaghetti straps, tube tops, halter tops)
o Ultra short skirts, dresses, shorts
o Low-cut tops and blouses
o “muscle shirts”
o Pajama’s or sweat pants

My university has no dresscode, just don't show up topless or something.
The highschool I went to before had a dresscode but nobody paid attention to it.

My school has a very strict dress code.
-No pajama pants or slippers.
-No hats, bandanas, or sweatshirt hoods.
-No skirts unless it is fingertip length.
-No shirts with bare back, bare midd-riff, see through, halter, low cut, tube tops, tank tops, and muscle shirts.
-No shorts with leggings underneath.
-No belts with studds.
-Pants have to be "waist appropriete."
-Handbags are to be "purse size" and not to use for carrying books.
-No obsence shirts.
