I know there have been threads recently re: baby names but my cousin is looking specifically for only gaelic girl names. any suggestions?

My dog is named Kaeleigh (Celtic name) - pronounced Kaylee. We wanted to give our collies Scottish/Irish names. Our male is Malcolm.

Have you tried Google?

I just typed "gaelic girls names" and got quite a few lists...

I don't know about gaelic names, but my girls have Irish names:

Heather, Caitlin, Ainslee

Depends on what she means by Gaelic. There are Welsh, Irish and Scottish Gaelic names. They aren't always the same. For instance:

Megan - Welsh
Meghan - Irish
Meagan - Scottish

Then there are Gaelic derived names like Bonnie and Heather.
A few that I can think of that I like:
Fiona, Ceila, Mairi

My dd's name is gaelic. Her name is Teagan.

Irish. they have a very Irish last name and their first daughter is named Molly.

Oh DDs names are both celtic. Their names are Caolyn (pronounced (Key-o-lynn) and Ciareann (pronounced K-y-rin).

This is a site that we referneced for some inspiration and to help family members pronounce their names (you can listen to the pronunciation). HTH.

our neighbor named her kids

Riley(girl
Ronin(boy
Griffin(boy

Keiran(girl

My neice's name is Kelia pronounced Kel-ya which I always thought was very pretty

DD's name is Caileen, an Americanized spelling of the Irish Caiolinn (sort of pronounced Kay-leen). Her nickname is Caili (Kay-lee) and one of the Irish women at our skating rink was very surprised to see that spelling. She said her cousin's little girl in Ireland was Caili, but that was the only time she saw it spelled like that here.

Other names (off the top of my head) are: Siorsa (Sorsha), Moira, Aine (Anya), Bridget, Morgan and Sinead (Shin-ade). Riley and MacKenzie are also popular with Irish...and some not so Irish...families. Olivia...I'm not sure if that is Irish...is also popular with Irish families. I will also add that all the Olivias that have been in my son's classes are incredibly cute, so I guess that is a good pick.

We had a great book when we were trying to pick names called Celtic Baby Names. It listed all original Irish baby names, plus Welsh, Scottish, Cornish and maybe a couple others.

Good luck!

I always liked the name Niamh (girl, pronounce neeve)

Irish place names can be fun too:

Kerry
Shannon
Tara
