We really want to be able to participate in this program but probably won't be able to visit the parks this year....I have four kids and two would love to be able to get the pins, and the other two would love to donate their tickets to the charity. Is there a way that we can do this or is it an all or nothing type prize? Also, if we choose the pins...are they mailed to us or do we have to pick them up at the parks, which we can't get to?

Each person can choose individually what they want to do with their voucher. So yes, they can be split any number of ways even if you all volunteered together.
For example: you could have a family of 4 who all completed the same volunteer opportunity and who donated 1 admission, got 1 free admission, one figurine/pin set, and one fast pass exchange card.

But the person who earned the voucher must be present at the park, with proper ID in hand, to redeem it. There are no long distance/by mail options for this promotion. So if you can't make it to DL or WDW in person, your only option is to donate the tickets.

Just a point of clarification here...

You only get to pick from the alternate gifts if you have an AP or multi-day pass already. If you don't you get a free ticket for volunteering (with the option to donate it).

From Disneyland's web site:
"Program Terms & Conditions

* Receive free admission* to one of the theme parks of Walt Disney World® Resort or the Disneyland® Resort when you sign up and complete a day of volunteer service with a participating organization.

* If you are an Annual Passholder or a multi-day ticket holder, you may choose from one of 3 options instead of receiving the free 1-day, 1-park ticket. No cash refunds or credits will be provided. See the FAQs for full details."
