Day Four - Monday 4-29
Our trip was from April 26th to May 3rd.
Woke up at 6:15 and quietly snuck out to go get coffee, had brought the refillable mugs from previous trip.
I walked around the grounds, was so early I had to use my room keep to get back into the lodge, tee hee. It's so nice and quiet and peaceful around here and pretty.
There were newspapers at every door way, guess it's quite crowded. But we are not finding it too bad to get around. I usually visit the 2nd week of December and that's not crowded, so this is taking a little bit to get use to.
Back to the day. Sitting on the balcony drinking the coffee it' peaceful, there are birds flying all around.
We are heading out for AK this am. Bus to FW first, took 1/2 hr to get there. grr. We got FP for Safari then had a quick bite to eat at the restraunt there, Tusker house? had an egg with sausage thing. Pretty good. But we can't keep having 2 breakfasts every day. But we do need to keep our strength up.
We then walked Pangani trail, this was again good. Usually take the Safari then the trail. There were not a lot of animals on the Safari, but we were late in the am by this time. We shopped and bought stuff, you are welcome Michael E. We then headed over to Kali River, got a FP there then took the trail. The tigers were tired, we saw a lot of birds and it was nice. I like the trails, you can walk and take your time to stop and smell the roses. Well not really roses, but it's nice not to have to rush through.
We took our shoes and socks off for Kali, chickens that we are. And it was fun, we got wet, Andie says we got soaked.
Almost forget, on the way to Kali, we saw DeVine. First time for me. She was cool. Took a lot of pictures. There were a lot of unsuspecting people.
We took the bus back to the Lodge, FW first. We did laundry, a lot of people were doing laundry, so we had to wait for the machines. Took us 1.5 hrs. All the washers at WL are front loading.
To MK after we changed, 1/2 FW first. They are already lining up for the parade, we head over to see if we can get on Buzz, too busy, so we head over to Columbia House for supper, ate up stairs. As a lot of you have said, it is quieter up ther. Andie had Chili, I had the Chowder. Both good.
The parade was at 8:30, and we got a front row seat at 7:50. Actually by the time the parade got to the Liberty tree Tavern, it was more like 8:45. We were next to a family from England. They had a little one in a stroller who was asleep, he woke up for the parade. There was another family behind us, so we let the little ones sit at our feet. The mother was a bit nervous with the kids out of sight, but they were good. Parade good as always. I don't know how many pictures I have of this parade. It's one of my favorites. I like it better than the Main Street Electrical parade. OK, no comments on that one!
Headed over to see Tink fly. Andie is starting to limp a little. We've done a lot in the days we've been here. Tink flies over our heads and the fireworks are great.
OK so we head out. This was the worse transportation experience, sorry for being negative, but...... We get down to the boat dock, and this is for both WL and FW. It is mobbed and there are no boats coming. The people are back up almost to where the security was in the am. UGH. Then a boat comes, it's one of the blue flag boats. Then nothing. Then another boat comes, then nothing. I'm tired. Then the little boats that go to GF and Poly start to come and pick up guests. This goes a little bit better. But 3 of the big ferry boats have already come and gone by the time we get on one of the little boats. The Electric Water Parade does show up, so that is a little comforting. We had missed it the other night at WL. And we were in a little boat, which goes to WL first. Thank you captain.
Went to the bar for a beer to go. Ruben must have the night off. In the room by 11. Slept til 8:30 the next morning.
Another beautiful day at Disney, hot and humid.
Mousekeeping had made us a child, with Andie's hat on him, and he was lounging around with the Minnies.
Tomorrow, Pool and MGM (Fantasmic Dinner Package)
