Hello there everyone, I just had a quick question. This will be the first time we are going to the park with my disabled/brain damaged mother. She has to be in a wheelchair at all times, a manual one that we push, and I was wondering if it is necessary for us to get one of those GAC's in order for her to be able to remain in the wheelchair in the lines. We have absolutely no problem waiting in line as long as she is able to remain in her chair. Any info would be great! TIA!!:)

You will not need the GAC for her unless she has other limitations like no sun, deafness or vision problems. At DLR I have never been carded except when I was waddling onto rides and was not in a chair or ECV. She should be fine and make sure you read up on where to enter rides and shows. If a CM tells you that you need a GAC then ask for a lead. It is a standard policy at DLR and WDW. GAC is only for hidden limitations.

hugs and good luck
Laurie

just agreeing with mechurchlady.
If you want more information, there is a section about GAC (Guest Assistance Cards) in post #6 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread. There is a link to that thread in my signature.
