Hi all,

I am hoping someone can help me, we have visited Disney World several times but are now trying Paris, when we have been to Florida we always got the Guest assistance card, as our DS is autistic and he likes to use his buggy as a wheel chair and we were able to use an alternate entrance to some of the attractions, does anyone know if they have something similar in Paris?

Many thanks

Tambam:)

Hi yes they do!!!
Make sure u gave a drs letter or sumthin similar and take it to city hall and u will get a pass...

Sum rides u go straight thru exit to get on, others u get a time to come back... All dependant on how busy!

Also allows access to areas for parade and disney dreams :)

I think it works well, or has done for my ds xx

Also make sure this letter from your doctor isn't older then 3 months before you visit.

Hi all

Thanks for your comments, I will take something along, but my problem is that it won't be less then 3 months old, something like Autisim doesn't go away, he will have it for life. It just seems crazy as inn FL you don't need to show anything, I will happily show them doctors reports and diagnosis letters, to try to ensure we have a good time there.

Thanks again for your help. :)

Hi,

Don't worry you will be fine, we have taken Joshua (who is autistic/non verbal) countless times to Florida and 3 times to DLRP.

It doesn't work exactly the same, in that you get a green 'Easy Access Card'.
Most of the rides there is a disabled entrance , often the exit, it's just a matter of getting used to the slightly different way of working.
If a ride is busy you may get a time to return, like a fastpass, but other than that you should get straight on with no problem.

The Doctors note is just a safeguard, as long as it has a recent date on it from your GP you will be fine, in addition it's unlikely they will ask to see it anyway, it's just in case.

Hi
Thank you for that, I was pretty worried that it would be harder there then in Florida as we know the system out there and they are so understanding of the condition.

I will take a letter stating his issues, we did have one the first time we went to Florida, from the specialist health visitor in our local area, but that was several years ago.

Many thanks for all the advice.

:)

No problem. The CMs we find at the Paris parks are helpful enough.

I know :)
But in order for the CM to approve the letter, the date must not be older then 3 months to your visit, and explaining what his condition is.

Laws are different in Europe then in the US, in the US it's more privacy protected due to some reasons.

I had 2 trips 4 months apart and I needed separate letters for both trips because the letter didn't cover both trips. On their website this is what they state they require:

For non-residents in France: disability card, European disabled parking badge or a medical certificate: original, in French or English, signed and stamped by a physician (medical doctor) dated less than 3 months previously stating the disability

This trip I'll have my blue badge with me so no need for a 3rd letter this year for me thankfully.

I just wanted to add that DP works completely different in the fact the more often then not they will look at the doc letter, the reason is that the GAC given out at DLP is a front of line pass where is at DW it is not! We have done DW way too many times to count but because we are from the UK have also done DP.
So because its not providing something of equal access you must provide a letter that's not dated more the 3months old, our son also has autism and I understand that most Docs you have will
Be dated from diagnosis but I'm sure your ped will write you up something with a newer date for the trip. :)
