Hello ~ Is there a GAC type card at Universal Studios? Thanks! Sandra

Yes. Go to Guest Relations. Do not know what parameters they set.
The pass was only good for one day. Each day we needed to return to GR for a new one.

You rated the POP very well. We'll be staying there for the first time in July. Tell me all about it please! S

Universal have a GAP Guest Assistance Pass, similar to Disney's GAC. Get one from Guest Relations when you arrive. We found it was a bit hit or miss what the pass allowed and even whether CMs would give them out, some didn't seem to know anything about them. They are date stamped so you'll need one each day you visit but they are good for both parks if you intend to park hop.

What is a GAC? What is a GAP? I would like to know what the initials stand for and what each is. Is this related to disability access at WDW and Universal?:confused3

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information, including information about GACs

Universal has GAP (Guest Assistance Passes). You do not need a doctor's note just be able to tell them what assistance you need at Guest Services.

Both parks are ADA compliant and, as such, are wheelchair accessible.

There are several types of GAP offered:

Stroller as a wheelchair (you an take your stroller right through the line without transferring to a wheelchair)

Show GAP (Special seating at shows--usually right up front for visually or hearing impaired)

Stairs GAP (for those rides that have stairs in the queue, you can use the elevator)

Familyroom GAP (where you wait in an airconditioned room with a few other family members while the rest of your family goes through the queue--then you join them at the front of the line)

Express GAP which is esentially like a fast pass at Disney all day (6 people maximum)

VIP Gap (back door access--mostly for Make a Wish Kids or Give Kids the World)

You may even need several different types of GAP such as Stroller as a Wheelchair and GAP express.

Thank you so much for your help.

I have read a lot of conflicting information on this site and on accounts of Wish Kid trips to WDW about whether they were able to bypass lines for rides as guests of Give Kids the World Village.:wizard:

We will be taking my daughter princess: to GKTW in the fall to visit WDW, and other theme parks to fulfill her wish. She has a form of cancer that has resulted in her losing one kidney and both adrenal glands. It is very difficult for her to balance electrolytes (I am sure this will be compounded in a hot humid climate-we live in a very dry climate) and to wait in long lines between restroom trips.

Some families on Wish trips report that they were able to bypass lines, others say they were not (most say there were able).

How could we obtain a VIP GAP pass?

Thank you,

Bill

At Universal, GKTW should have it set up on your ticket order so when you pick up your tickets, they should issue you a Gold (VIP) Gap. I don't know how they handle it at Disney.

I would double check with GKTW to make sure they have specified a Gold GAP at Universal. You can also email guestservices@universalorlando.com and make sure they are aware that you will be visiting with GKTW and your dates.

Disney calls it a Guest Assistance Card. We abbreviate it as GAC to avoid typing so much.
Talk to your Make a Wish Coordinator about your child's needs.
In the past, everyone on a MAW trip wrote about having a GAC at the Disney parks that allowed them to bypass lines. They got documentation to take to Guest Relations in the Disney parks from their Wish coordinator or at Give Kids the World Village (where many families on Wish Trips stay).

Some people have been posting recently that on their Wish trip they got a 'regular' GAC, stamped with a message that met their child's needs rather than the GAC that allowed them to bypass lines. I don't know for sure, but I suspect that the children who are more medically fragile are given the GAC that allows more expidited access.
