I meant that it is an awful thought that her parents have all these same questions and that they are probably discussing all the what ifs and it's reality for them. It's their daughter that is dead....I just can't imagine how they are feeling and dealing with all this.

I didn't see that, and it doesn't make much sense.

The FBI supervisor at the press conference yesterday said the body found was "consistent" with being Gabby, and that they had notified Gabby's family of that. Those facts don't match "couldn't tell if the body was male or female."

I agree it doesn't make sense.

Yosemite and Yellowstone get mixed up all the time. It would not be unusual for someone to send a quick text like that and accidentally write the wrong place. Yellowstone is a stones throw from grand Tetons, literally when we visited there 2 years ago we drive out of one park and within an hour or so we had entered the other. I wouldn’t even really know they were separate except for the entrance stations. Yosemite on the other hand is a few states and an entire full days drive away. 2 years ago we had horrific service in Yellowstone (I had 2 teens with me, believe me I heard non stop complaints about the lack of service!) This is also bear country. I’m starting to plan an backcountry camping trip next summer in grand Tetons and they are serious about bear precautions (rightly so). I would sadly imagine with any body left out for 3 weeks time it will be very hard to determine what actually happened, unless it was a gunshot, which I highly doubt!

I've done both on the same trip, although it was a matter of just having an open ended tail end of the trip. And absolutely I've heard and seen way too many people (myself included) get those two mixed up. Even NPS people.

Have you ever seen a body that has been out for what, 10+ days. Subject to weather, hot, cold, possibly rain and animal scavenging? It doesn't surprise me they couldn't make that type of identification. It's my understanding that she had a unique tattoo. That might have been the only thing they have that's identifiable to go on.

As a matter of fact, I have. If we assume Brian killed her (which I don't), the body would have been there for almost 3 weeks because he was home in Florida on Sept 1. But the condition would depend on a lot of factors -- none of which we know. That's why I said earlier that one of the first things I'd like to know is what the scene looked like.

She did have a couple of unique tattoos that I saw in the body cam videos, and they should have a DNA match by the end of the week. They might have fingerprints earlier depending on what they have to work with.

Hasn't it been said that she did physically hit him? In a previous comment on this thread it was said the officer "wrote that Gabrielle "Gabby" Petito, 22, slapped Brian Laundrie after an argument" This was the same day as the fight where you quoted that the 911 caller said they saw him slap her.

I wouldn't call that exclusive either on the part of Fox news. Sounds like just putting more fuel in this fire. She slapped him he slapped her. Doesn't appear to be one-sided here. I think most of us think both of them had their issues going on.

The taking of another life is an egregious act, if that is what indeed occurred. It does not however mean you are forever incompatible (an interesting way of describing it IMO) with society. Each and every person should be evaluated separately especially these days when we have and are still improving our viewpoint and treatment of mental illness. This concept that you are written off from society is an old way of thinking and basically shoves people into a room so they don't have to be thought of again.

Yeah - autocorrect has some serious issues with some words that I commonly use. And then it might try to autocorrect texting slang too. Not sure about Yellowstone vs Yosemite though.

There is a news report out of Sarasota that Laundrie's car, a Mustang, was found in the parking area of the Carlton Nature reserve last week with a note on it that said to please notify his parents to come and get it. Apparently they left it there for a few more days, "hoping he would come back for it." The local authorities have now suspended the search of the Reserve, and Laundrie's parents were seen leaving the house in an FBI vehicle while agents were searching their home today.

Not touching the last statement of yours but you realize you said "This doesn’t exactly line up with her as the aggressor." based off a tweet where it said he slapped her. She also slapped him on the same day. The police were responding to a domestic dispute for both of them.

Did I miss where people have said on this thread that he wouldn't hurt a fly and he looks like he would be nice?
