Transportation Trading Cards are available free for the 3 major modes of transportation at WDW - buses, monorails and the watercraft ( serving the MK and surrounding resorts on 7 Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake).

These are available from those CMs of the Transportation Dept. who choose to carry them - carrying them is strictly voluntary so not all bus drivers, monorail CMs and/or Watercraft CMs have them.

There are a total of 18 cards in a complete set:

12 Monorail cards for each of the 12 different colored monorails;

3 Bus cards for each of the 3 types of buses; and,

3 Watercraft cards for each of the 3 classes of vessels (ferry boat, motor cruiser and motor launch).

NOTE that these cards are only available from CMs in buses, monorails and Watercraft AND CMs in one transportation operation DO NOT carry cards for the other 2 areas. Example: Bus drivers do not carry Watercraft cards and so on...additionally, CMs inside the parks, at resorts, etc do not have these cards so don't waste your time asking any CM not working in the Transportation Dept.

***One interesting note about the Watercraft cards is that all 3 of these cards have errors on them - the most prominent being on the ferry boat card. This card shows the "Richard F. Irvine" underway across 7 Seas Lagoon loaded with guests and the port side midships gate is open - a MAJOR safety "NO-NO". (Seems the "Ensteins" who created these cards never had the WDW Watercraft Dept. proof the boat cards prior to printing them...:lmao: ...typical!!! :rolleyes1 )

So, no need to go on eBay and pay up to $4.99/card for the cards that are available free...but not always readily available.

Good Luck tracking these cards down!!!

We went last November, and one of the CMs on the boat gave the cards to my DS. Then we went crazy trying to find the rest of the set. Never did find the monorail cards or bus cards. I'm glad to hear they are still sometimes carrying them. Maybe on our next trip we can get the rest.

I'll have to dig up the boat cards and point out the errors to my DS.

Thanks for sharing.

they are also available from bavaria at certain times of the year... as are Disneyland Paris trading cards :)

CMs seem to enjoy stocking me up with cards which I turn share with younger visitors

(I am actually much nicer in person, I've been told) ;)

would love to get a set of the bus trading cards as well as the monorail for my dad who is a bus fan and has quite a collection of disney transport items! he has pics going way back to our first trip in 1973

If you are willing to share, my son turns 11 on 11/14 and would love any of these cards. Please PM me if you have any extra that you wouldn't mind passing along to him.

Thanks,

WOW...news to me and I did 3 trips this year. I will be looking for these(actually my sons will)-they love this sort of thing.:thumbsup2

I have a set of the three watercraft cards that I would be happy enough to send to someone.

(I have a thing about throwing things out if someone can make use of them, even if I can't.)

My 3 boys had an absolute BLAST collecting these cards during our 8-day trip last September! It was kind of like a scavenger hunt, in that we specifically went out of our way to be sure that we rode in each type of watercraft and each type of bus. My DH and DS9 even waited at the Poly bus stop for over 30 minutes, just to find a bus driver that carried the cards and had the ones we were still missing.

It took a couple of days, but they managed to collect a complete set! It was GREAT, FREE entertainment!! :flower3:

You location is Orlando, living so close, I wouldn't think that you need any of the cards. And Wow, a blast from the past on this thread. If you PM me your address, I'll send you the Gillig card.

We never found a bus driver carrying them this trip! Hopefully next trip. I did how ever buy the 3 pack of play buses in the gift shop for my DS who considered the buses to be a ride lol. The family joke is we should have skipped the parks and just rode Disney transportation for the week, my son loved it!
