FYI RE: "Double Dipping"

~First of all, if your son is sick then I agree your time may better spent addressing his needs. Also, I can certainly think of a million different ways to spend my vacation. Frankly, it would *not* be here on a message board misinterpreting statements and challenging words I don't understand. :scared:

~Secondly, this post doesn't make any more sense then the others. I still disagree with you 1000% just like before -- even more so. I really don't understand what you are talking about. :lmao:

~loophole:

  • an ambiguity in a system, such as a law or security, which can be used to circumvent or otherwise avoid the intent, implied or explicitly stated, of the system.
  • is an opening or aperture.
  • a means of escape or evasion; a means or opportunity of evading a rule, law, etc.

~OMG, "loophole" like any other word in any language can hold various meanings and connotations. I never use a word without knowing its full meaning and it's always within its proper context. Clearly, I chose to utilize this word within the broader context of its meaning. Your twisted interpretion of "sneaky" is just pure bizarre to me. :scared: I totally accept that you and I are completely day and night in how we interpret and define words. :lmao:

~For me, words can hold several meanings -- language has never been black and white. Individuals can comprehend, perceive and/or interpret words in countless ways. It's not something I would ever challenge.

~I couldn't imagine spending my days let alone my vacation attempting to define other individuals words, especially with absolutely no basis and limited understanding. It's obnoxious -- notice how I have not attempted to correct anything you've written -- one reason being, I don't understand it at all -- the second reason is that I don't care. I really have no interest in attempting to "convince" anyone of my statement. Everyone is entitled to share their opinion. :rotfl:

~You are free to use whatever word within whatever context you deem acceptable. What you won't do -- is succeed in attempting to define my statements by attaching your ill-conceived and far fetched negative connotations.

~If I wanted to label people who utilize the loophole as sneaky, I would say that. If I wanted to use the word SNEAKY -- I would have used it. Thank you! :teacher:

~Once again, by under no circumstances did Disney instruct guests to bring their old expired ticket media in order to receive additional fastpasses on top of what has already been allocated for both FP+(Magic Bands) and FP-(Legacy/KTTW).

~Thirdly, this is an obvious loophole in the system that was discovered by someone, who then conveyed this information over here. Just because Disney has opted not to address the matter at this time doesn't necessarily mean they condone it. LOOPHOLE. Done.

~Finally, I hope everyone gets to enjoy this loophole while it lasts!
:cool1:

I may be way out of line, but that seldom has stopped me before. ;)

I think that part of the problem is that you are talking about the "loophole" of people using old/expired media to get FP-, while bumbershoot is using "loophole" talking about getting both FP+ and FP-.

I'm not taking sides on whether this is or is not a loophole, how concerned Disney is or is not with people doing this, or if or when it will be changed. Just that it appeared to me in the back and forth that people may have been talking about different things at the same time.

:stir:

~I totally agree! And no, you are definitely not out of line. :goodvibes In my previous posts, I made it crystal clear that Disney arranged the Magic Band/FP+ tests for guests to utilize both FP+(Magic Band) and FP-(Legacy/KTTW). This is not a loophole -- Disney intended for guest(s) to maximize both. So, there is no reason for anyone to misconstrue what was written. After all, you got it right within seconds! :lmao:

~Frankly, I really have no idea what that poster is talking about. I'm glad you were able to figure it out though. I do find it somewhat bizarre how this poster keeps coming back to challenge my opinion. We must to learn to respect others opinions.
:lmao:

I would like to know more about the issues with APs on MBs and not being able to obtain FP- now... We leave in 8 days...

I am heading to the MK tomorrow with AP's and magic bands. I will report back on my experiences. :goodvibes We are checking into AofA so we should get KTTW cards that work for regular FP.

We left yesterday, we were able to use our APs, KTTW from both hotels we stayed at and an old KTTW from April.

Thanks so much! I am concerned about this. If I can't get regular FPs bc I have FP+ booked, I'll get rid of my FP+.

Today was my first attempt at double dipping in the park. I entered using the MB, and it didn't work at the turn style (didn't yesterday, either), so they manually scanned it. When I went to use my KTTW card, it gave me one of those not valid tickets. I tried a different ride and same thing. I spoke with the CM attending the FP machine and she asked me if I entered with the card or the band. When I said band, she asked me if it worked properly at the turnstile or not. I said it didn't and she told me that was the problem. She then went on to say that my KTTW card should work but wasn't because of my entry problem (that made no sense because my kids cards didn't work either but their MBs did upon entry). She said that I shouldn't really be using FP - if I was testing FP + but when I complained about being limited to only 3 FPs she gave me one of those cards that you use in the machines to get FPs. So, according to her I shouldn't really have been double dipping but she gave me cards to double dip. And I only complained very mildly!

Did you have park tickets on the KTTW card?

Yes, they are current KTTW cards, so I assume my tickets are on them. When check in gave them to me he told me they were in case the MB didn't work, so they should have my tickets on them.

. Might be why but hearing all wacky things on KTTW cards working in FP - machines I'm there in 12 days my tickets are separate so it should be interesting..

Have been here six days now, two at Epcot and two at HS, one each at MK and AK. Have been entering the park everyday with either UT paper ticket (days 1-3) or plastic ticket received when trading in paper ticket at Guest Relations - have not been entering park with MB. Every day and every attempt for me I have been able to pull FP- with KTTW cards and UT paper/plastic. We are family of five, so I have five KTTW cards, but only 4 park tickets because one child is under three. When I walk up to FP- machines, I know I can always pull 9 FP- (if they are still available and have not all been distributed). Also doing FP+ every day.

At HS Wednesday, both me and my wife auditioned for American Idol. I made it through first cut but cut in second audition and did not get on stage. They still gave me 7 any ride/anytime paper FPs for my time. My wife is a better singer than me, she made it on stage - they gave her 14 any ride/anytime paper FPs for her time.

All I can say is - got to love this test period! If you are willing to open the parks and do some basic planning, you can ride the headliners every day multiple times with no wait. RNR, ToT, TSM, Soarin, TT, the three mountains at MK, etc. - we have been able to ride all of them three, four, or five times during our visit, as much as anyone would want to. Literally, I have not stood in a line and waited for anything this week. Have either walked right on in a stand-by line or used a FP. Also, several times we have had extra paper FPs we didn't have time to use, which we always give away to a couple or family approaching the stand-by line (this is as fun as riding the ride yourself sometimes).

To achieve this result, have had to use a little bit different strategy at each park. At Epcot and HS you schedule your FP+ and pull paper FPs for headliners only. At MK you schedule FP+ for rides with longest lines you can't pull FP- for (Enchanted Tales w Belle is perfect example - no FP- available and has longest lines of all).

Loved the FP+ for Fantasmic Wednesday night. Was a huge challenge burning through all of those FPs we got from Idol, kids riding TSM/RNR/TOT over and over with their cousins (we shared). Finally had to give up and head over for show. Slid in at 7:40 and still able to have seats for our group in front center section even though it was standing room only for stand-by.

So even though you didn't enter the park with MB, you could still use your fp+ with no problem?

Luv to know the other way around .. Using MB to her yet then pull FP - with KTTW & UT plastic card..

I don't understand whats going on. I tried entering the parks with my plastic seasonal pass. I could not get fastpass-. I tried with my mb and still could not get fastpass- with either room key or plastic tickets. Is anyone else a passholder with their tickets linked to my dis. exp. If so what method are you using to get to use both your fastpass+ and regular fastpass-??

Sounds like this is an issue with APs/SPs. :(

The system seems to have horrible inconsistencies, particularly with APs. I have a friend who is just back, and she said that she was able to pull paper FPs with her plastic AP card even though she used her MB to get into the park all last week. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason for who it works for and who it doesn't work for.

It's becoming more frequent. On another thread, at least 2 ppl have has issues and they were AP holders. It is upsetting.
