Yikes! They go so fast!!! My $49 fares from yesterday are now $79! Oh well, so much for all my "research" on flying out of Hartford! It actually works out cheaper for us to fly out of LGAas I could get a $69 fare going down. I appreciate everyone's help though. Maybe it will come in handy for future flights.

So because of my indecision our trip went from $584.50 to $877! I ended up calling Song and they are holding this fare and flight for me until tomorrow. $175 round trip is still not bad with a weekend return though. But not as good as $110! So snooze you lose I guess is the motto!

BTW the same flights on Jetblue would cost me $1400! So Song still wins out!

I've been watching from LGA to MCO for NJ Teachers Convention week. Flights were $59/each way. But the 10:20 AM flight down was up to $79 and I didn't want to pay $80 more for 4 people. The 2ish flight back home was up to around $109 so there's no contest there.

Today I check and find the 10:20 AM flight has dropped to $69/pp (only about 15 seats left). So for an add'l $40 I took it. So we're flying out 11/5 at 10:20 AM to MCO, arrive 1:11 PM. Coming back on 11/12 on the 11:03 AM flight to LGA, arrive 1:30 PM. We arrive in Orlando 4 hours earlier than I previously would have, which is great, giving us time to get the bags, rental car, drive to our condo and get settled in long before it starts getting dark. We don't do the parks on arrival day so it's not a problem, but 4 extra hours is great. Our total r/t price for 4 people is $581.60.

I'm so happy right now. :cheer2:

That's great! I thought the flight that I have now for $69 was actually more when I checked another day. So maybe it was not my imagination!

For me the problem was my Sunday return. All the flights were over $100 so when I saw that $49 fare, I should have jumped on it. At least I should have called Song and had them hold it for me. I think they charge $5 more per ticket to book over the phone (I might me wrong) but it would have saved me $30 per ticket if I had held them at that price yesterday. Oh well, live and learn!

I encountered the opposite of what happened to you.

I heard on the news about the fares war and decided it was the right time to book. So I went with $176 Song BDL to MCO trip Sat. 5/7 til Sun 5/22 for two . I was very happy with the price until two days later when I read SWA was $49 one way! Then I searched my flight on Song to see price had dropped to $116 a $60 difference. :sad2:
I called Song and they charge a $25 change fee and gave me a $35 credit towards future flight on two tickets.

I can look at it as a $50 loss or a $70 gain :confused3

Maybe I'll feel better when I'm on vacation. :earseek:

Well I'm glad that I had them hold my flights and price because prices just jumped up again today! The $69 and $79 flights are up to $84 and $129(at JFK). The woman at Song said that rates change so much and of course common sense says to book the cheap flight when you see it first!

I was also watching Song to book a flight from BDL-MCO for my son and girlfriend. I was able to book the $49 down/back fare for a total of $116, but the same trip now is up to $200! You have to jump as soon as you see the reduced fares, that's for sure.
