FYI-Most apple juice from CHINA (including Motts)

1. Kids really should not be drinking more than 4 oz of fruit juice a day anyway, if at all. It is not necessary, and a huge source of sugar.

2. Just because it comes form China doesn't mean it is "bad".

IF you lived in China you might feel different, I do and this is a country with no regulations and no one washes their hands!! so, if you can buy locally I would with no hesitation!

I can take you even one further with some food dyes....something I learned recently when looking at some food coloring to buy.....mccormick food coloring has propylparaben in it which is actually banned in the UK from what I was told (along with many other "ingredients" that are in things here). I learned that when I found out that I am allergic to parabens.

I'm allergic to sodium benzoate, potassium benzoate and parabens so I have to avoid it anyways.

However, I do fully admit, that I like my occasional cherry coke with HFCS....its a weakness

The UK also bans artificial food dyes because they use petroleum and coal tar in them.

this is not really true. SOME come from the same family of chemicals as petrolem, as do MANY organic compounds. It is the same idea asthefact that rubbing alcohol and methyl alcohol (wood alcohol) come form the same family of chemicals as grain alcohol (the kind you drink), but are actually posionous, while grain alcohol is not. Chemicals that are bad for us often share some of thier chemical signature with those that are not.

I live in Canada and last winter I didn't buy apples or garlic all winter because everywhere I went I noticed the labels and apples and garlic were all coming from China.

Well, I can tell you that as far as Disney goes I refuse to buy my daughter any of the unnaturally colored treats found throughout the parks that so many others seem fond of.

Has anyone actually ever read the ingredients of a Dole Whip? I don't think that most of it is actually food.

I'm telling you... If WDW offered snacks/candy/treats/etc. only made from real food and without these unnecessary chemicals and such, my vacation snack budget would skyrocket.

All processed food, whether at Disney or not, is full of chemicals. I tend to enjoy a few tasty treats while at Disney, but I eat no processed food any other time (I haven't always been this way, but I have eliminated all processed food for health reasons and have been without them since the end of March). I'm eating real, whole food 99% of the time, so I can deal with a treat at Disney. Unfortunately, junk has become the norm for most people, instead of the occasional treat.

Hi, OP here. To the poster who asked what juice I found that is made in the USA, it is "Nature's Own". It has an American flag on the back and says, all ingredients from the US.

To the few posters, who were rude, with comments like. So? What's your point? etc. My point is that, I thought maybe you wouldn't want to give your children food that is from China. I know alot of the items in this country come from China, but I just feel differently about my children ingesting food from there. I also look around Halloween time, since alot of the chocolate comes from China. I was just trying to give some info to some people who might be interested in knowing this. If you rude posters don't care, why even comment? To the majority of friendly people, just wanted you to be aware of this.

Thanks for the heads up about apple juice. We mostly drink water & milk in our home, but my Dh will buy juice boxes for the kids sometimes.
We have changed the meats & dairy we eat to buying from farms that only grass feed their livestock. We also eat mostly organic fruits/veggies, but we do still have some processed foods. We check ingredients very carefully.
I wish there were better restrictions on our food and I do believe it affects our health.

Isn't China the country that poisoned all those babies with tainted formula. China is one country where I would not trust any food source from. Thanks OP for the heads up.

I agree. I'm with the OP here. I'm reading the label of anything that goes into my kids. China's standards are not what I would consider acceptable.

No, I was definitely referring to the bird. Why would I be talking about the country if I mentioned a processing plant in Arkansas:confused3

Because you capitalized Turkey and I was tired...easy mistake...:confused3 turkey the bird would be lowercase unless at the beginning of the sentence...
