FYI...Minnie open for registration!

The Minnie never filled last year and Disney was disapointed about the number of runners entered. I heard they were allowing 4000 but only 2500 entered. That's why the race is going away.

Why do you think it was that it didn't fill? I was thinking this would be a good one to start with - the 5k. IF i can pull that off, it will be a big accomplishment, and where else would i rather attempt it than Disney?! I am just starting the c25k program, and this seems to be a good entry race. I need to justifly to DH why i should fly to WDW to run a 30 min race.

I was talking about the 15K. The distance is an inbetween for runners and isn't as glamourous as a half(which is replacing it). Disny gets 16,000 to runner the 1/2 in Jan and can get only 2500 for Minnie. TOT filled months in advance. Disney wants races that will fill months in advance and not ones that never fill. I just hope the new "Princess" half isn't a rehash of the Jan 1/2. If so I won't do it. I think they could run a few extra miles in AK before sending everyone out on the old Minnie course. This would complement the Jan 1/2. If you do both, you would do most of the marathon course.

Robert, that makes total sense. I am still trying to get this whole schedule figured out.. And i don't know if will ever be able to attempt more than a 5k - i think that alone for me will be a miracle!!

Judy! Sounds like we had the same kind of day I checked at 7:30 am = zippo! Susan called me at about 11:30 am and said they were working on the site. That the 15K course was loaded so I checked at lunch 12:45 pm and still nothing. Finally when I came home it was loaded and I'M REGISTER!!!!!! Woohooo!!!!!

Robert you've read my mind about the possible course. That would be perfect! Though I probably would do the 1/2 in the spring with the thoughts that January is the girls only weekend (thought DH is flying down just for 2 days to be a support person). I'd like DH to get in better shape so that he could do some 1/2's with me and a spring Disney 1/2 might be just perfect for a couples weekend. Though we are hoping ToT works well because we want to take the guys back in 2008

Caitsmama keep up the excellent work of getting in those steps! It will pay off I'm planning on signing up for the 5K too but after we get back from ToT. Gotta save some moooo-la for some Dole Whip in a few weeks.
