My DH just called from work to give me this info to pass on to anyone going to the States in the near future. His boss has a trip planned and called the consulate to check about the in's and out's of this. She was told that things should be just fine, but that they STRONGLY recommend that you have a Canadian passport. You'll probably still be able to get in without one, but life will be easier if you have it.

Baboo, you're right about the passports. I'm taking as much photo ID as I can find for us. I'm a little concerned about 5 year old DDs passport. I had one made for her when I went to Holland when she was 4 months old. It is not due to expire until next year. Needless to say, she looks nothing today at 5 years old as when the photo was taken at 4 months old. I don't have any other photo ID for her other than family photos. Hopefully they will see this as a legal document and take it. Also, how does one find the number for the consulate. I'd like to double check with them about travel before we leave 9/29, especially if retaliation has begun. Thanks, Jo

We got our passports renewed in June. The main reason was for the Magic cruise, but it make sense to use them at the US border. Has anyone experience any delays at the Montreal airport - US customs ?
